We will be holding a TOWN HALL VIRTUAL MEETING FOR MOBILE ELECTRONICS DEALERS TOMORROW AT 10:am & FRIDAY at 6:30pm. The purpose of these meetings is to give you perspective of what others are doing so that you can get input from others and adjust plans accordingly. This is not going to be a bitch session! “We are in this situation- how best to cope with it and plan for the next days” is the focus of the meeting.

Alpine Electronics Now Shipping the R-A90S 6-Channel Amplifier

AUBURN HILLS, MI (03.26.2020) – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. is now shipping the R-A90S 6-Channel Amplifier. The R-A90S joins Alpine’s R-Series amplifier lineup that’s matched in both power and performance with the R-Series speakers and subwoofers for a “Loud and Fun” music experience.

All the Power You Need

Customers have grown to love the 5-channel amplifier solution due to its ability to provide total system power from a single amplifier. To add value and versatility to this category, without sacrificing the subwoofer power of a 5-channel, Alpine created a 6-channel amplifier with staggered power that has double the amount of power on the 5th and 6th channel. This allows the amplifier’s final two channels to provide a solid 500 watts to a single subwoofer at 4Ω when in 5-channel mode or 150 watts x 2 at 4Ω to mid-basses in 6-channel mode.

The R-A90S can be used in various layouts including a powerful 3-channel mode (200W x 2 @ 4Ω, 500W x 1 @ 4Ω), a 5-channel mode (75W x 4 @ 4Ω, 500W x 1 @ 4Ω), or utilize its onboard bandpass crossovers to independently power a 3-way component system in 6-channel mode (75W x 4 @ 4Ω, 150W x 4 @ 4Ω).

The result is the most versatile amplifier in its class, as it can act as both a 5-channel amplifier that can single-handedly power a full system as well as a 6-channel amplifier to power a 3-way active front stage. The unique channel layout is also beneficial to the mobile electronic specialist, as they can rely on one amplifier for multiple applications.

Unrivaled Performance

With the highest output in its category, the R-A90S drives power to the sound system to create a big dynamic music range for the listener while maintaining a proper sound stage between the singers and instruments in the music. 

The amplifier’s high damping factor (>500) produces crisp and clear notes, especially at low frequencies. This amplifier has an extremely low phase shift compared to its competitors, which keeps music focused and accurate for the most enjoyable listening experience.

The result is a powerful sound system that produces accurate sound images with minimal phase shift and internal noise throughout the amplifier’s Hi-Res compatible frequency response.

System Compatibility

The R-A90S has input capability to add the RUX-KNOB.2 Remote Bass Control Knob (sold separately). The remote bass knob controls the bass in the subwoofer by adjusting the gain on the amplifier for quick bass adjustments when needed.

DS18 Offers New Line of Chargers and Power Supplies

DS18 has a new line of charger that is killing the charging and power supply game. Now they have 3 models to fit your charging needs that provide either 60-amp, 80-amp, and a massive 200-amp power supplies that are also active chargers and maintainers.

These rugged and durable chargers have 3 modes. The first is for maintaining your batteries if they are being stored or your vehicle is parked for prolonged periods of time. The charger sends periodic 14v pulses to the battery to make sure it stays at its recommended resting voltage.

The second is for charging your batteries from a very low charged state. In this state of charging, the unit will keep pulsing either 13.8 or 14.4 pulses until the unit detects that the unit is fully charged and at its normal resting voltage, then from there it will stay in maintenance mode. The last feature and best will be power supply mode. In this mode, the chargers will switch to power supply mode and give either 60 amps, 80 amps, and a whopping 200-amp continuous power.

Avenue Sound Riding The Wave From The Long Island Boat Show

FREEPORT, NY (03.23.2020) – As the boating season approached Avenue Sound, with Kicker Marine Audio, made waves at the 62nd Long Island Boat Show at the Nassau Coliseum February 21st – 23rd.

Since The Long Island Boat Show, now a month ago, Avenue Sound has seen strong marine business at both of the company’s locations.

Vik Moolchandani, Avenue Sound’s Captain stated “We had a super booth location that stretched 40 feet by 15 feet at the Boast Show. We filled that space with 3 decked out vehicles, displays and literature. The Yamaha WaveRunner, Polaris SlingShot and KTM Motorcycle, all with Kicker gear, highlighted Avenue Sound’s versatility. These vehicles definitely showed attendees that Avenue Sound can do it all. Spectators commented that they really appreciated the installation design and quality of our work. Many of those who saw us at the show have come into our stores and made purchases.”

When consumers enter Avenue Sound locations they quickly realize Avenue Sound is REALLY in the marine business. Eye-catching displays, that provide excellent demo capabilities, are highlighted on the showroom floor. A big Boston Whaler job was just completed on Saturday, March 21st. The Boston Whaler job, that took 3 days to complete, included audio and lighting in multiple zones. Multiple Kicker speakers, amps and cockpit radio plus JL Speakers and Race Sport Lighting will definitely make waves for this Avenue Sound customer when he leaves the dock.

SiriusXM’s UMF Radio to Showcase Ultra Music Festival Experience

NEW YORK, NY (03.20.2020) – SiriusXM today announced the broadcast of SiriusXM’s Ultra Virtual Audio Festival on UMF Radio starting on Friday, March 20. 

SiriusXM’s Ultra Virtual Audio Festival will feature exclusive live DJ sets from artists who were originally scheduled to perform at Ultra Music Festival, including Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix, Above & Beyond, Major Lazer, Lost Frequencies, Oliver Heldens, Nicky Romero, and more.

SiriusXM’s UMF Radio channel will launch on Friday, March 20 at 5:00 pm ET and will air through Monday, March 23 on channel 52, on satellite radios and on the SiriusXM app.

The limited-run channel will also highlight past live DJ sets from previous Ultra Music Festival performances that have aired live on SiriusXM.  Past sets from DJs, including Kygo, The Chainsmokers, Marshmello with special guest Roddy Ricch,  Zedd, and Carl Cox, will broadcast throughout the weekend.
