Oracle Lighting Foundation Donates Over 500 A.I.R. Masks to the United Way & Medical Workers

METAIRIE, LA, June 30, 2021 – Oracle Lighting (www.oraclelights.com), the market leader in high-quality and innovative LED solutions for the automotive/12Volt, power sports, marine, and motorcycle markets, is proud to announce it recently donated 550 A.I.R. Solo™ (Antimicrobial Irradiation Respirator) face masks to the United Way and Port Sulphur, LA-based Plaquemine’s Medical Center in an ongoing effort to help in the fight against COVID-19. The value of the 550 masks donated exceed $55,000.

“On behalf of our Oracle Lighting Foundation Task Force, we are excited and proud to be able to make this donation which allows us to help others during the pandemic,” said Tiffanie Hartenstein, Oracle Lighting CEO. “The masks will be
given to lower income families who are unable to get the vaccine or who have family members with low or compromised immune systems. They will also be used throughout the hospital since the mask gives staff an extra layer of protection against other bacteria or viruses.”

The A.I.R. Solo™ (Antimicrobial Irradiation Respirator), which Oracle Lighting developed and launched last year, is a wearable UVGI face mask that is designed to be worn under common face masks and utilizes Ultraviolet Germicidal technology which has been shown kill live viruses such as COVID-19.

“Early in the pandemic we saw shortages of PPE and wanted to help the medical community by developing a sustainable system which would actively sanitize the user’s mask in real item,” explained Justin Hartenstein, Oracle Lighting director of product development. “So we made a decision to use our experience with UV LEDs and to shift our focus into a new UVGI device which led to the A.I.R. Solo mask.”

A.I.R. Solo is worn under any common face mask and utilizes a patent-pending system to sanitize the air while simultaneously neutralizing contaminants trapped in the cloth face mask by means of short-wave ultraviolet light exposure. The ultraviolet light source is produced via UV LEDs which are integrated into the device. The spectrum of ultraviolet light is separated into various ranges, with shortest-wavelength referred to as UV-C which is considered “germicidal UV”.

MasterTech Expo Event Announcement

MESA, AZ (06.25.2021) – Mobile Solutions has announced an expansion of its successful MasterTech programs into a four day event called MasterTech Expo on March 6-9, 2022 in Mesa, AZ. “Given how the past year affected how we all view in-person training, my team and I felt our educational offerings needed to evolve into a more compelling event focusing on crossover of different skills and learning paths” comments Bryan Schmitt, MasterTech Expo event director.

MasterTech Expo takes place at the Mesa Convention Center. The collaborative event includes hyper-focused, professional-grade education workshops to meet skillsets of all levels in the electrical, upholstery, fabrication, design and automation disciplines of aftermarket automotive interiors and customization. World-class leaders in their specific areas of expertise lead the instruction of each workshop series. MasterTech Expo offers four distinct workshop trajectories, each with multiple sessions that build upon one another for maximum learning and retention. There is a series of learning workshops for every skill set and discipline, whether an automotive interior trimmer, 12 volt car audio installer, custom vehicle builder, automotive designer, fabricator, aftermarket automotive business owner and more.

In addition to the learning focus, select manufacturers, service providers and industry influencers are invited to exhibit and share their technologies and application experience with the attendees. A wide variety of exhibitors from 12 volt electronics and audio to fabrication tools, upholstery and automation ensure a balanced approach and broad exposure to all important facets of the aftermarket automotive segment working on vehicle interior customization.

A unique highlight at MasterTech Expo is a two-team build off competition in which of experienced builders, along with some attendees, each dive in for a hands-on build of application-based projects that takes place over the duration of the event. “This is one of the most effective methods to both show techniques and demonstrate how to think in a production mindset. It just adds a whole new level of engagement” adds Schmitt. MasterTech in-person training has historically involved one or more hands-on builds by the program instructors while the combined process of classroom and shop-based learning are in progress.

More detailed information can be found at the official event website, MasterTechExpo.com and includes workshop descriptions, hotel information, event schedule, cost to attend, event registration and so much more. While the event’s exhibit spaces are largely sold out, interested exhibitors can contact info@mastertechexpo.com for more information.

Axxess Ships Two New Interfaces Designed to Fit Newer Ford SUVs, Vans, and Trucks

HOLLY HILL, FL (06.25.2021) – Axxess by Metra Electronics has two new data interfaces designed to fit Ford’s 2020-up* EcoSport, Escape, Transit, Transit Connect, and F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 trucks. The interfaces also fit Ford’s 2021-up* E-Series van, also known as the Econoline. Both of the interfaces, the AXTC-FD3 and AXVI-FD3, retain key features and are used when replacing the factory radio. Both provide NAV outputs, accessory power, and a 12-volt illumination output, in addition to retaining R.A.P., balance, and fade. The main difference is that the AXTC-FD3 has a built-in AXSWC steering wheel control interface while the AXVI-FD3 does not (it has a pre-wired harness for the AXSWC, which is sold separately). This makes the AXVI-FD3 an ideal choice for models that do not have audio controls on the steering wheel.

AXTC-FD3 Interface

The Total Control Series combines a data interface with all of the features of the patented** Axxess steering wheel control interface (AXSWC) for one convenient solution. When replacing a radio, the interface utilizes patented Auto-Detect technology that automatically detects the vehicle type, radio connection, and preset controls, while allowing the ability to dual assign steering wheel controls. This interface is designed to work with all major radio brands and both amplified and non-amplified audio systems. In addition to Auto-Detect, it can be manually programmed for most vehicles and will retain settings even after battery disconnection or interface removal. Vehicle-specific harnessing makes installation even easier.

AXTC-FD3 Product Specifications:

  • Data and SWC interface with vehicle-specific harnessing
  • Provides accessory power (12-volt 10-amp)
  • Provides wires for NAV outputs for multimedia radios (parking brake, reverse, speed sense)
  • Retains audio controls on steering control
  • Retains balance and fade
  • Retains R.A.P. (Retained Accessory Power)
  • Designed for non-amplified models only
  • Designed to be compatible with all major radio brands
  • Auto detects vehicle type, radio connection, and preset controls
  • Ability to dual assign steering wheel control buttons
  • Retains memory settings even after battery disconnection or interface removal (non-volatile memory)
  • Provides illumination output
  • Micro “B” USB updatable

AXVI-FD3 Interface

For models that do not require retaining audio controls on the steering wheel, the AXVI-FD3 is another option for installers to retain key features.

AXVI-FD3 Product Specifications:

  • Data interface with vehicle-specific harnessing
  • Provides accessory power (12-volt 10-amp)
  • Retains R.A.P. (Retained Accessory Power)
  • Provides illumination output
  • Provides wires for NAV outputs for multimedia radios (parking brake, reverse, speed sense)
  • Pre-wired AXSWC harness (AXSWC sold separately)
  • Retains balance and fade
  • Designed for non-amplified models only
  • Micro “B” USB updatable

Both interfaces do not retain SYNC, and are designed to fit the following non-amplified Ford models:

  • E-Series 2021-up*
  • EcoSport 2020-up*
  • Escape 2020-up*
  • F-250/F-350/F-450/F-550 2020-up*
  • Transit 2020-up*
  • Transit Connect 2020-up*

These solutions are both in stock now and will be covered in Metra’s advanced integration training session at KnowledgeFest in Orlando on June 27 at 10:30 AM. *See the vehicle application guide at AxxessInterfaces.com for up-to-date, vehicle specific information. **The AXTC-FD3 utilizes U.S. patent number 8257147.
