SiriusXM Media and Narrativ Team Up on AI Voice Replicas in Audio Advertising

NEW YORK, NY (6.18.25) – SiriusXM Media announced a new agreement with Narrativ to launch an ad initiative which will allow brands to leverage AI-generated voice replicas and use them to make audio advertising creative at scale, while empowering the humans behind the voices to maintain control of their likeness. Through SiriusXM Media’s self-service creative tool, named AdMaker, advertisers will soon be able to tap into high-quality ads that combine in-house creative agency Studio Resonate’s production expertise with Narrativ’s innovative AI voice technology.

This collaboration will offer brands more flexible, cost-efficient, and scalable creative options within audio, while still benefitting from the human touch of Studio Resonate’s award-winning creative direction. For the voice actors who work with SiriusXM Media and choose to opt in to Narrativ, this solution will offer them the opportunity to earn additional income through the licensing of their voice replicas while maintaining full ownership and control over voice usage, including the ability to approve or reject every ad using their voice replica. This is reflective of Narrativ’s commitment to consent, compensation, and control when it comes to the use of AI likeness in advertising; Narrativ was one of the first AI companies to embrace ethical use, and signed a deal with SAG-AFTRA in 2024 to protect and monetize union talent voice replicas.

Here’s how it will work: In AdMaker, advertisers will be able to choose to use an AI voice replica from the roster of voice actors who opt in to Narrativ. From there, Studio Resonate’s creative team will oversee the ad’s production. Each ad must be approved by both the voice actor and the advertiser before it goes live. By combining the AI voice replica of an expert voice actor with human-led creative direction, this solution will enhance Studio Resonate’s audio ad production capabilities and offer advertisers more flexible creative options at scale.

“We are thrilled to be working on this new solution with Narrativ, which shares our belief in the power of the human voice – the heart of all great audio,” said Lizzie Collins, SVP and Head of B2B Marketing and Ad Innovation at SiriusXM Media. “This deal will open up new doors for AI voice technology to expand and augment, not replace, our creative capabilities and the talented voice actors we work with every day. It also represents a major step forward in making high-quality ad creative in audio more scalable, and more accessible, for brands.”

“Collaborating with an innovator like SiriusXM Media is an exciting milestone in Narrativ’s mission to advance ethical AI in audio advertising,” said Ben Gottdiener, co-founder of Narrativ. “As demand grows for faster, more scalable ways to produce audio ads, many advertisers are turning to AI voice platforms—often without knowing their models are trained on questionable datasets. We founded Narrativ to prove that it’s possible to offer cost-effective, scalable solutions that also protect voice talent. Working with SiriusXM Media to enable ethical, AI-powered ad creation is a cornerstone of our platform.”

This collaboration marks the latest step in SiriusXM Media’s continued investment in innovative audio ad technology and intelligent creative solutions. By streamlining production and expanding access to scalable, personalized creative with AI-powered ad solutions, SiriusXM Media makes it easy for advertisers – from local small businesses to global brands – to buy, produce, and measure high-quality audio ads across its self-serve platforms.

Trump Kills EV Mandates, SEMA Expresses Gratitude

WASHINGTON, DC (6.13.25) – The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) is expressing its profound thanks to President Donald Trump, who today signed a Congressional Review Act resolution that will protect more than 330,000 American jobs and preserve $100 billion in annual economic impact for the nation’s economy by revoking a waiver that would have enabled California to ban internal combustion engine vehicles.

President Trump, who invited SEMA to join him at the White House for the signing ceremony, now has delivered on a key campaign promise in which he pledged to preserve vehicle choice for millions of Americans to decide which car or truck is right for them. In doing so, President Trump has provided a significant firewall for the nation’s automotive aftermarket, a third of whom manufacture and sell products solely for internal combustion engine vehicles.

“President Trump meant what his said when he declared his intent to stop radical policymakers from depriving the American people of vehicle choice. He’s proven to be a man of his word and a true champion of American innovation and ingenuity, particularly of that borne out of the automotive aftermarket industry,” said SEMA President and CEO Mike Spagnola, who was present for the signing ceremony. “This is a clear example of American government at its finest, where a bipartisan set of lawmakers set aside their differences for the sake of the American people – in this case, to strike down a bad, ill-conceived policy from California that would’ve shattered the nation’s economy and destabilized the automotive marketplace.”

BACKGROUND
SEMA is not, and never will be, anti-EV; rather, it champions a technology-neutral approach that fosters innovation and ingenuity. The association will continue efforts to preserve Americans’ rights to vehicle choice and the automotive aftermarket industry’s ability to design, manufacture, and bring to market products that help solve the emissions challenge.

Beginning in 2023, SEMA led a national effort to educate voters and lawmakers on the damage of EV mandates on families, the working class, and American small businesses. In February, when the effort to overturn the California waiver kicked into high gear, SEMA mobilized an army of advocates to:

  • Send more than 56,000 letters to lawmakers in the House and Senate
  • Build a coalition of 335 small businesses for an April letter urging House and Senate leadership to hold votes to put an immediate stop to the implementation of the ACC II regulation
  • Host aftermarket business leaders and automotive influencers for 56 in-person meetings in Washington, D.C., with lawmakers and their staffs
  • Dominate the digital media landscape with countless memes and posts on the harms of EV mandates, reaching more than 2 million voters in key states, and running online ads that put pressure on lawmakers and staff around the Capitol

Along the way, states not named California got wise to the harms of EV mandates. Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Vermont each backed off policies to follow California’s emissions policies while North Carolina, Texas, Ohio, West Virginia, and eight other states passed SEMA-supported “ban the ban” legislation to ensure such mandates never take effect again.

This follows a significant financial investment by SEMA to educate voters throughout the 2024 presidential campaign via its Driving Force Action SuperPAC, with ads running the battleground states of Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.
