BOSS Elite Contributes to High School’s Auto Shop Truck Restoration Project

OXNARD, CA (06.25.26) – No car rebuild, especially done by teenagers, is complete without a new audio system, and BOSS Elite was there to step up and provide all the necessary components for the Agoura High School (Agoura Hills, Calif.) auto shop class and its students’ restoration of a 1970 Chevrolet C20 truck.

“The collaboration between our students and BOSS Elite represents exactly what career education should be, which is real, hands-on work with industry partners,” said Brian Wright, instructor, Agoura High School, and project lead. “Our students aren’t just learning in a classroom, they’re building, creating, and solving problems alongside professionals. That kind of experience is what prepares them for the next step, whether that’s college, a career, or starting their own path in the automotive world.”

Agoura High School’s auto shop class serves 75 students across three sections. Once the project is complete, the truck will be featured at a major car show before being raffled/sold to benefit the program.

“I met Brian (Wright) since my son and his son are in a garage band together,” explained Colin Ross, BOSS Elite associate band manager. “He mentioned that he is teaching auto shop at our kids’ high school and he then brought up the truck project. When I asked what brand they were using for audio, he said none. So, I gladly offered to help. Brian then invited me to the shop after school and showed me the vehicle the kids were working on so I could spec a system for it.”

Ross said that once he took a look at the Chevy C20 and discussed his thoughts with Wright, they decided to utilize the truck’s existing audio component sizes and locations so the students would get a good idea of audio installation without having to do any major cutting or fabrication.

In the end, the 1970 Chevrolet C20 truck’s new BOSS Elite audio system includes:
• BE7ACP.WX double DIN 7-inch car stereo with Apple Carplay and Android Auto
• BE6004D 600 Watt 4-Channel Class D amplifier
• BE692C 2-way 6×9 coaxial speakers
• CH4220 2-way 4-inch full range speakers
• BOSS Elite wiring kit

“These kids are great, and they are truly learning a trade that could lead to quite a few different education and career choices after high school,” Ross concluded. “It’s wonderful that Brian was not only open and enthusiastic for our help and that we could provide a terrific system for the truck project, but also for the students to be introduced to the ins and outs of car audio installation.”
