PowerBass Connected with Powersports Enthusiasts

COSTA MESA, CA (09.24.25) – PowerBass had a very strong presence at the 2025 Sand Sports Super Show at the OC Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa, held September 19–21. PowerBass set up in an expansive booth showcasing their latest products in the Powersports category. The dedicated crew on site included Erik Harbour, John Driscoll, Dave Myers, Juan Quintana, and Meny Fischer.

The PowerBass booth set up on Friday before the SSSS opened.
After the sun went down the PowerBass booth shined.
Traffic in the PowerBass booth was constant throughout the event.

From the moment the show opened Friday afternoon, the PowerBass booth was buzzing with action as attendees checked out the wide selection of Powersports gear along with Bluetooth portable units.

“We stayed busy every day all weekend long as lots of consumer traffic came by the booth, as well as retailers, looking to find the latest and greatest in Powersports products. We offered live demos all day and into the night, which was a fun way to engage the crowds when the music really got cranking in the booth. It’s a great change from some of the traditional trade show type events of the year,” Harbour said.

This show also marked the first for John Driscoll since joining the company. He was busy meeting with current and potential customers from across the West Coast and setting up follow-up meetings for after the show.

Harbour added, “We had business cards on the counter from dealers across the area. Consumers were able to pick up cards so they could know where to go find the PowerBass products they saw in the booth to add to their rides. Each day we had several hundred enthusiasts spend time in our booth. We are looking forward to them enjoying Powersports on their rides.”

SEMA Urges EPA to Rescind Greenhouse Gas Endangerment Finding

WASHINGTON, DC (09.24.25) – The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) is urging the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to follow through with its proposal to rescind a dubious policy position that empowered regulators at the federal and state levels to deprive Americans of vehicle choice through electric vehicle (EV) mandates that were out of step with marketplace realities.

Because a third of SEMA’s members are internal combustion engine (ICE) dependent, the organization was especially motivated to share its views on the EPA’s proposed rule, which can chart an important new direction for innovation and vehicle choice and promises to protect a $100 billion segment of the U.S. economy, including more than 330,000 U.S. jobs.

In comments responding to the EPA’s rulemaking for Docket ID No. EPA–HQ–OAR–2025–0194 — Reconsideration of the 2009 Endangerment Finding and Greenhouse Gas Vehicle Standards, SEMA identified economic and cultural considerations for re-establishing a foundation of vehicle choice in the U.S. automotive market, which, because of recent GHG emissions policies, have experienced an erosion of affordability and innovation.

SEMA articulates its support for the EPA’s proposal in order to:

  • restore the Clean Air Act to its proper scope;
  • create long-term certainty for entire industries;
  • protect consumer affordability and preserve vehicle choice;
  • reduce adverse impacts on small businesses; and
  • prevent a patchwork of competing federal and state mandates that destabilize markets by delegating policymaking back to the legislative branch.

“The specialty automotive aftermarket is a uniquely American industry built on ingenious innovation, vibrant consumer enthusiasm, and an unmatched entrepreneurial spirit,” writes SEMA President and CEO Mike Spagnola. “The EPA’s reconsideration of the 2009 GHG Endangerment Finding presents an opportunity to remove unnecessary regulatory barriers and allow market forces to guide technological progress in a way that is consumer-driven. We urge the EPA to finalize the repeal of the Endangerment Finding and its related GHG vehicle standards.”

Modus to Showcase Revolutionary Marine Audio Technology at IBEX 2025

OXNARD, CA (09.17.25) – Modus, is taking its marine audio innovations to IBEX 2025 in Tampa, Fla. where they’ll prove that boat audio doesn’t have to be a compromise. From October 7-9 at the Tampa Convention Center, the premium audio company will showcase technologies designed specifically for marine environments, because boats deserve better than repurposed car stereos.

Modus will exhibit at two locations during IBEX: interior booth 3-2112, showcasing the full marine product portfolio, and an exterior demonstration area near the sail pavilion featuring the company’s award-winning Tesla Cybertruck with live audio demos, featuring Mezzo Marine DSP amplifiers. This dual presence allows attendees to experience both the technical specifications and real-world performance of Modus marine audio systems.

“IBEX is exactly where we need to be, it’s where the marine industry comes to see what’s next,” said Rob Osheaski, Director of OEM Marine Sales for Modus. “Look, we’re all here because we love boats. We know what it’s like when you’re out there with friends and the music just isn’t cutting it, or when you’re worried about blowing your speakers because someone cranked the volume. We built Modus to solve those real problems.”

The Modus marine lineup reflects a deep understanding of boating culture and the technical challenges unique to marine environments. Unlike adapted automotive systems, Modus marine products are purpose-built to handle saltwater exposure, power constraints, and the social nature of boating while delivering high-quality sound reproduction. The company’s marine-focused technologies address critical challenges faced by boaters, including power limitations, environmental durability, and multi-zone audio control.

Modus will highlight three key innovations at IBEX:

PREACT™ Technology delivers intelligent power management specifically engineered for marine 12V systems where power resources are limited. The current-averaging innovation maximizes audio performance while preventing battery drain and electrical system overload, critical considerations for extended time on the water.

ACTEQ™ Technology provides real-time anti-clipping and audio system protection that adapts to changing conditions, safeguarding equipment regardless of volume levels or environmental conditions. This technology allows boaters to enjoy their audio systems without concern for speaker damage or system failure during active use.

Party Mode™ Technology enables seamless audio synchronization across multiple zones of a vessel, allowing boaters to create unified sound experiences from boat to boat. This technology transforms how audio is managed in large group outings and events, providing intuitive control for shared experiences on the water with a low-hassle interface.

IBEX 2025 marks a significant milestone in Modus’s marine market expansion, following successful demonstrations at recent Electrify Expo events. The company’s presence at North America’s premier boat-building exhibition underscores its commitment to the marine industry and positions Modus as a serious contender in the premium marine audio market.

“The three-day exhibition provides an ideal platform for Modus to engage with boat builders, marine dealers, and industry professionals who demand the highest standards of performance and reliability,” Osheaski concluded. “Attendees can experience live demonstrations of Modus marine technologies and learn how these innovations address real-world boating scenarios.”

Mean Machine Cycles Hosts the Small Town Throwdown

ELKHART, IA (09.09.25) – Mean Machine Cycles hosted the Small Town Throwdown on Saturday, September 6 in Elkhart, IA. The event featured burnouts, a stereo battle, a bike show, vendors, live music, food, and more.

Mean Machine Cycles’ Robb Boggs said, “This was our 8th Annual event and it was a blast. The turnout was great and the weather was amazing.”

As the event wrapped Robb Boggs shouted “The turnout was great and the weather was amazing. Thanks to all who attended The Small Town Throwdown!”
Bikes stretched for blocks along the streets in Elkhart.
Bikes were everywhere in the small town!

Nearly 300 bikes lined the streets of Elkhart during the community event. Vendors set up under tents to showcase their products, and a 50/50 drawing raised proceeds for the Elkhart Fire Department. During the sound-off competition, 25 to 30 bikes participated in the stereo battle.

Chris Pace rolled the Arrowhead Sales and Marketing JBL trailer from Kansas City and was on site to showcase and demo JBL products. He also highlighted motorcycle products from Precision Power and SoundStream—brands that Mean Machine Cycles carries.

Chris Pace had the Arrowhead JBLTrailer spotlighted along the street.
This biker checks out products on the JBL trailer.
Many custom bikes were spotlighted around the area.

“Robb really put on a great community event for bikers and the small town of Elkhart. The streets were lined with bikes for several blocks, and there was a lot of action under the vendor tents with many custom bikes too. Al Congdon was on site with Euphoria Car Audio. We definitely need more of these types of events to engage consumers and enthusiasts,” Pace commented.

The large Mean Machine Cycles showroom spotlights a wide selection of products for bikers.
Dozens of busy vendor tents were spotted around the grounds.

Boggs concluded, “A thank you to everyone that came out—friends and family, customers new and old, all the vendors, and especially my staff and wives. This event would not have been anything without all of you.”

A big 12volt Central Studios thank you to Chris Pace for images and input.

Ramzi Khalil’s JETS-Badged Toyota Tacoma Shined at the JETS-Steelers Game

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (09.09.25) – The Jets-Steelers game at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, September 7 was one of the hottest tickets to kick off the NFL football season. Aaron Rodgers’ debut with the Steelers added to the buzz.

Ramzi Khalil pictured by his new Toyota Tacoma on Sunday afternoon in the MetLife Stadium parking lot.

When attendees rolled into the tailgate area at MetLife Stadium, one of the first things they saw was Ramzi Khalil’s JETS-green Tacoma in the massive parking lot. Khalil had just completed the installation on his new Tacoma at Brooklyn Car Audio on Friday, September 5. By Sunday, the JETS-badged Tacoma was proudly on display at the stadium grounds.

Ramzi snapped this image on the cloudy Sunday afternoon from his seat in the stadium

“I’ve been a JETS season ticket holder for years and I was so excited to get to the stadium. When I parked, people started honking horns and gathering to check out the new Tacoma. My new JETS-branded Tacoma follows a Tesla Model Y and Toyota Highlander,” Khalil said.

Ramzi snapped this image of his just finished Jets-badged Tacoma on Friday afternoon, September 5th, in the parking lot.

Khalil has been with Brooklyn Car Audio for 11 years and is the Manager at the Utica Avenue store. With the shop’s high visibility along a busy thoroughfare, he often positions his Tacoma in front of the large signage at the location.

Unfortunately for Jets fans, the Steelers came out on top as Aaron Rodgers made his debut.
