Saddle Tramp Ships New RGB LED Lighting Kit for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles

HOLLY HILL, FL (03.25.2021) – Saddle Tramp by Metra Electronics is now shipping a new plug-n-play RGB lighting kit designed for 1996-up* Harley-Davidson Touring models. The BC-RGB-K1 is a 12-piece kit that can be controlled via the Metra RGB smart device app for 16 million different color options, preset lighting transitions and flash patterns, the ability to flash the lights to music, and more.

Saddle Tramp’s new kit is pre-wired with trigger controls so installers can customize it to light up with the brake and turn signals, providing extra visibility for riders. The easy-to-install kit includes 12 pre-wired LED strips for the headlight trim, front fender, crash bar, gas tank, back engine, saddlebags, and Tour Pak. Metra has engineered the BC-RGB-K1 with water-tight connectors and OE plugs for a fast installation that will withstand the elements of the open road.

The 5050 RGB lighting strips have 3M adhesive backing with prep materials included. Metra Electronics provides a 1-year warranty on the LED strips and RGB controller. Metra Electronics Shipping New Dash Kit with Built-in OLED Screen for 2010-2012 Cadillac SRX

HOLLY HILL, FL (03.22.2021) – Metra Electronics is now shipping a new dash kit with integrated electronics and a built-in OLED screen designed for 2010-2012 Cadillac SRX models. The new 107-GM5B dash kit is designed for most shallow mount aftermarket radios and Pioneer’s DMH-C2550NEX and DMH-C2500NEX modular receivers. (See radio manufacturer for the most current models).

The 3-inch by 1-inch OLED screen is a first for Metra Electronics, which has previously used built-in color LCD touchscreens in the TurboTouch dash kit series. The OLED screen allows for a clear display of the vehicle’s climate control functions and customization menu settings, which would normally be lost after replacing the radio. The high-contrast OLED screen is located below the aftermarket radio, replacing the factory analog clock, volume, and tuning knobs from the original dashboard.

The factory buttons and controls below that are retained and fit into Metra’s center dash panel. An Axxess steering wheel control interface and harness are included with the kit to retain the use of the factory audio controls on the steering wheel. Additionally, there are several audio control buttons on the center control panel, (seek up and down, band, menu, and back), that can also be retained and used to control the aftermarket radio using Metra’s 107-GM5B. An antenna adapter is also included with this kit to provide a convenient, all-in-one solution for radio replacement and integration.

Third-Generation 360° OmniVue to Debut During KnowledgeFest Live

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (03.19.2021) – Driver Safety Technology (DST) will debut the third generation of the 360° OmniVue Surround View Camera Systems during the virtual KnowledgeFest Live show, March 19-21. Two models—one for passenger and commercial vehicles; another for fleet trucks—now provide surround, left and right blind spot, and rear views to the driver. At the virtual show, DST will present an in-depth training on 360° OmniVue, showcasing features, installation procedures and selling strategy.

First introduced in 2015, the 360° OmniVue system has proven its effectiveness with fleet customers reporting a drastic drop in accidents. Four quadrant-mounted cameras feed an advanced processor to create a live, top-down and blind-spot view of a vehicle and its surroundings, allowing the driver to safely avoid obstacles and conduct safe lane changes.

The latest generation of 360° OmniVue features a more powerful DSP which supports additional view modes for the end user. Power consumption has been reduced, resulting in less heat and therefore less stress on the internal components and battery. For technicians, the main module size has been reduced by one-third, enabling more mounting options, and the calibration process has been simplified to a single step via SD card and PC-based software, compared to the multiple calibration steps of the previous generation.

For the end user, the new 360° OmniVue adds nine selectable views allowing the driver to choose specific on-screen views for their driving situation. In addition to the top-down, 360-degree view, users can select between front-half or rear-half views of the vehicle for better maneuvering focus. Also, left and right blind- spot views are triggered by the turn signals.

The 360° OmniVue outputs to a standalone monitor or can show on a factory-installed screen with the use of third-party integration modules. A mobile DVR can be added for full recording capability through a second video output on the module.

Oracle Lighting Announces Oculus 7-Inch Bi-LED Projector Headlights for Jeep Wrangler JK

METAIRIE, LA (03.18.2021) – Oracle Lighting has launched its new Oculus 7-inch bi-LED projector headlights (p/n 5876-001). Now available for pre-order and scheduled to ship in April 2021, the new headlights are designed for 2007-‘18 Jeep Wrangler JK, 1997-‘06 Jeep Wrangler TJ (w/ H4 wiring adapter), and classic cars/trucks (w/ H4 wiring adapter and some modification) and have an MSRP of $489.95.

“Our new Oculus features advanced LED projection with 4,800 Lumens of high-quality illumination for enhanced driver visibility in all weather conditions,” explained Justin Hartenstein, Oracle Lighting director of development. “Oculus is a complete headlight replacement with better light focus than a simple bulb upgrade. These lights also use the original factory beam angle adjustability for proper light focus on lifted Jeeps.”

Light focus is very important for not only driver safety but others on the road who can potentially have their vision obstructed by glare. “This is especially significant on lifted vehicles where the light source is raised and in a position to interfere with the field of vision of other drivers,” Hartenstein continued. “The new Oculus headlights feature a very sharp cut-off line and focus light with industry-leading precision specifically to avoid such issues.”

Oculus’ LED light source has lower power demands compared to the factory halogen lamps while providing more light output. Oculus features precision Bi-LED projectors for optimum light distribution and beam angle. These seven-inch headlights install in any seven-inch headlight trim ring using original mounting hardware. The Halo DRL features more than 200 bright white LEDs for a vivid lighting impact.

“It is undeniably important to implement proper thermal management tools for high-performance LEDs to operate with reliability in various environments,” Hartenstein concluded. “Oculus utilizes both active and passive cooling methods to sustain low LED temperatures. Remote mounted heat sinks and an internal cooling fans work in conjunction to insure proper temperature control and longevity of the LEDs.”
