Daytona Lights Ships New Cube, Driving and Rock LED Lights, Plus RGB Strip Lighting Kits

HOLLY HILL FL (04.06.2021) – Daytona Lights by Metra Electronics has introduced new LED lighting products in different styles and options, designed to provide affordable vehicle lighting that doesn’t compromise performance. For extra visibility at night, two new styles of cube lights and three additional LED driving lights have been designed for better illumination and lighting coverage using a low current draw that doesn’t drain the battery. Single-color LED rock lights are available in four different colors that can go inside or outside of a vehicle. Daytona Lights has also introduced four different RGB strip light kits that have been tailored in size, length, and quantity to fit the most commonly requested installations. These new products are in stock and shipping now.

Driving and Cube Lights:

LED Cube Lights

The DL-CL2 is a set of two 5D spot lights with an impressive output for its small size. Drivers can see farther with a highly controlled spot light beam pattern that projects light at a much greater distance than what a standalone lens or reflector design can do. The 5D spot light produces a powerful 2,520 lumens combined from both of the six LEDs on each cube.

To get the best of both worlds, the new 140-degree dual-zone cube light set, the DL-CL3, allows the driver to control the center spot light and side flood lights independently. The light output can be adjusted when and where it is needed for a highly versatile solution that can illuminate an off-road trail, wide-open area, or long dark road. This set of two cube lights produces 2,520 lumens from the 72-watts of combined lighting, with twelve LEDs per cube. The ability to control the spot and flood lights separately make this set ideal for a wide range of driving environments.

LED Driving Lights

The DL-DL1 is a set of traditionally styled driving lights with a crisp ten-degree spot beam pattern and twenty LEDs, designed to complement any primary lighting system. They mount with a lower bracket located in the center and the set of two lights produce a combined total of 2,880 lumens using 40 watts.

For off-roading, new four-inch lights are available in square (DL-DL4S) and round (DL-DL4R) options, sold as a set of two lights with nine LEDs each. These lights have been designed with a medium 60-degree flood beam pattern to illuminate the immediate area while still shining ample light down the trail. Each set produces a combined total of 3,510 lumens of light using 54 watts.

Single-Color Rock Lights

New rock lights are available in white (DL-ROCKW), green (DL-ROCKG), blue (DL-ROCKB), and red (DL-ROCKR), sold as a two-pack. The rock lights are rated IP67 with metal housing for a resilient lighting solution that can go inside or outside—withstanding the elements for use under the vehicle, inside wheel wells, engine bays, and more. It is easy to install with a two-wire connection and hardware is included with flat or curved mounting bases that work on a variety of surfaces. Each 3.6-watt rock light has three 2525 LEDs for an affordable but bright accent lighting solution that adds flair to any vehicle’s interior or exterior.

RGB LED Strip Light Kits:

RGB Strip Lighting Kits

Four new RGB strip lighting kits are designed for wheel wells, underbody, or interior lighting in the most common installation sizes. The music controller with a key fob and card remote is included and there is an optional feature for brake light integration, which turns the LED lights red when braking. Installers can combine multiple kits in the DL-RGBK series to work with one key fob or card remote. These plug-n-play solutions are designed for the easiest possible installation with cigarette adapter or hardwire power options and no specialty tools required.

RGB LED Lighting Kit Options:

  • DL-RGBK1: Interior Kit with (4) 12-inch Strips
  • DL-RGBK2: Kit with (10) 4-inch Strips
  • DL-RGBK3: Wheel Well Kit with (4) 24-inch Strips
  • DL-RGBK4: Underbody Kit with (2) 36-inch Strips and (2) 48-inch Strips

NAV-TV Adds Audi MIB3 Infotainment Platform Compatibility to ZEN-V Advanced Amplifier Interface

CORAL SPRINGS, FL (04.02.2021) – NAV-TV Corp. has announced that Audi MIB3 has been added to the ZEN-V compatibility list.

The ZEN-V advance amplifier interface is now compatible with 2020 and 2021 Audi vehicles equipped with the MIB3 system. The ZEN-V allows the seamless addition of aftermarket amplifiers into compatible vehicles, delivering audiophile-quality sound without compromising the vehicle’s factory fit, finish or features. ZEN-V is the first aftermarket product utilizing MOST®150 globally.

Follow @navtv_usa on instagram

Utilizing the same processing power as NAV-TV’s competition proven M650-GM, the ZEN-V produces a completely flat audio output without any factory time delay or equalization, eliminating the need for summing devices, an audio correction DSP or the removal of the factory audio compensation microphones.  Installation of the interface requires no modification to the vehicle and is compatible with both amplified and non amplified factory systems.

Volume, Fade, Balance and Bass/Treble tone controls are retained through the factory radio and echo cancelation for the factory Bluetooth hands-free system is supported.

Utilizing a 128 bit floating point DSP and 192 kHz 32 bit DAC, the ZEN-V produces a 12 channel analog output with a S/N Ratio of 112dB. For vehicles with video playback capability, the ZEN-V supports 7.1 and 5.1 audio[1}. The unit provides a 500mA output for controlling aftermarket devices and, additionally, retains the factory equalizer.

For use with 3rd party digital sound processors, the ZEN-V  includes a variable TOSlink digital output which may be used simultaneously with the analog outputs, or by itself. The variable digital output allows for the system volume to be controlled via the factory radio and steering wheel controls without the need to access any 3rd party controller.

For ease of use, the ZEN-V  is configurable through dip switch settings.  User selectable features of the ZEN-V are:

 ·         Optional time alignment to driver

·         Full scale audio or -12dB attenuation

·         7.1 downmix to stereo on TOSlink or TOSlink mapped to the front outputs

·         Loudness on or off

·         Enables factory subwoofer control

Vehicles will require the additional MIB3-MOST PRG programmer prior to the installation of the ZEN-V[3]. The MIB3-MOST PRG is included in the MIB3 bundle and comes with unlimited usage.

The ZEN-V  MIB3 Bundle (NTV-KIT997) is currently available and shipping.

To place an order, or for more information on the ZEN-V, contact your NAV-TV sales representative at (866) 477-3336  (USA and Canada toll free) or (561) 955-9770

Audiomobile Ships Largest “Evo” Subwoofer

LAS VEGAS, NV (04.02.2021) – Audiomobile has introduced their latest ‘Advanced Technology’ car audio subwoofers – the EVO “24” Series.  Built on the proven performance of the highly-acclaimed Evo series platform, the EVO 2412 features an array of unique performance technologies, including low-profile SLX cast alloy frame, fully CNC machined motor, proprietary Shaped-Manifold-Gap (“SMG”) compact, vented motor, resulting in the longest excursion, slimline  subwoofer on the market.

  • Class-leading power-handling and excursion envelope
  • No axial motor-vent provides minimal enclosure depth
  • Premium “CLS” Kevlar Composite Laminated Sandwich cone
  • Shallow mounting depth of 117 mm / 4.6”

Rated at 500 watts RMS, the Evo 2412 delivers remarkable 16 mm of one-way linear Xmax, making it the longest excursion, slim-line, 12-inch subwoofer available.  This
rare combination of very low resonant frequency, plus modest VAS, allows it to deliver full-size 12 performance, but works optimally in enclosures under .65 cf, as well as in reflex / ported boxes, under .95 cf net volume.

The proprietary SMG motor includes a unique “thermal-transfer path,” which routes hot air away from the voice coil and motor, thru passages, that allow the heated air to be exhausted thru and dissipated by the cast aluminum frame, plus provides additional convection cooling to the huge conduction heatsink provided by the motor and extended gap-plate.  This dual mode technology offers significantly increased long-term power handling, and reduced power-compression at high-output levels.

In addition, the high-performance suspension features a heavy-duty 25 mm premium SBR rubber surround, 8” flat-spyder, with ‘in-line’ lead wires, to allow over 2-inches of peak to peak excursion provided by the unique motor.

This powerful, compact, proprietary motor design (1.5” deep), delivers symmetrical magnetic field, for reduced distortion and results in a driver without equal, in micro-box applications.

The MSRP on the Evo 2412 D4 is $495.00

KENWOOD Introduces the World’s First Anti-Viral Receiver

LONG BEACH, CA (04.01.2021) – KENWOOD USA has introduced a new line of MASK CD receivers with ZapoGerm technology. The eXcelon KDC-X569UV kills germs and viruses on the surface of CD’s. How does it work? A CD is placed in the CD receiver and bathed with excessive Ultraviolet light while it’s playing. In testing, this treatment has been shown to mitigate the transfer of COVID-19, COVID-20, the common flu and a host of other germs and viruses that live on the surface of objects by up to 28%. Dave Hoag, JVCKENWOOD’s Executive VP stated: “This is the first environmentally and socially conscience automotive receiver to come to market. It’s a game changer.”

KENWOOD plans to expand this technology into DVD receivers in late 2022. Mike Roberts, KENWOOD’s VP of Sales and Marketing said: “We wanted to start with CD receivers because they represent a segment of the market that could use a boost from a breakthrough technology like ZapoGerm. It’s a perfect time to revive the iconic MASK line of receivers and bring them into the 21st Century.”

When asked if the UV light in the CD receiver could affect the laser’s ability to track the CD, Rick Noetzli, KENWOOD’s Sr. Product Manager said: “The light only diminishes the receiver’s ability to read the disc by 15%, and we found that playback fidelity only decreased 15-18%. Our study groups showed that the compromise was still better than most compressed audio files, and acceptable for people to finally feel safe in their cars.”

The KDC-X569UV will be available in early 2022, at a projected retail price of $699.00 (based on decreased chip availability, increased parts costs, tariffs, and shipping costs).

For detailed information on specific features of the receiver, please view its respective product page at www.kenwood.com/usa/car.
