IASCA Worldwide Announces New SPL Format

EAST WENATCHEE, WA (02.24.23) – IASCA Worldwide creates a new SPL format called ‘Demo Boxing’. Based on the popular IASCA Bass Boxing rules, Demo Boxing comprises of two classes; Wall and No Wall. Competition determines the top two qualifiers in each class who battle against each other in a final 90 second round to generate the highest average SPL over that time frame. The highest average 90 second score will be the Event Champion.

“Demo Boxing is a simple and fun format designed to allow competitors to show off their systems to an audience and compete for awards and CAP points.” said IASCA President Travis Chin. “As the world of car audio competition evolves, IASCA Worldwide’s goal is to bring positive, challenging and fun competition formats to car audio enthusiasts and competitors and entertainment for all those involved.”

The format offers competitors the option to compete with any or all doors and windows open, whichever works best to increase their average SPL number over the time frame.

Demo Boxing will make its debut at SoundCheck Customs in Lafayette, IN on March 26th, 2023. Subsequent events are scheduled for April 1st, 2023 at Kollars Kallout in Niceville, FL. and Sight & Sound Audio Connections in Centralia, WA on April 16th.

Car Toys Tulsa Returned to the Starbird Show as the Trophy Sponsor

TULSA, OK (02.23.22) – The 59th Darryl Starbird National Rod and Custom Car Show filled the Tulsa Expo Square February 16th thru 19th. Car Toys Tulsa, the Trophy Sponsor, took a large 20′ x 40′ booth up front to highlight custom demo vehicles and products.

*The Trophy Sponsorship included a custom plaque that will be featured in the store.*

Charles Stewart, Car Toys owner, stated “Car Toys has been exhibiting at the Darryl Starbird show for years. On Saturday alone the attendance was reported to have topped 20,000. Total attendance topped 35,000 for the show’s run. There were other shows happening at the fairgrounds and a friend told me it took him over 30 to find a place to park. Our booth, as the Trophy Sponsor, was right up front so attendees checked us out when they entered and were leaving the event. Also as a sponsor we received a lot of play over the PA system during the show”.

Car Toys Tulsa also received visibility on the heavy local radio and TV news coverage schedule that aired in the Tulsa area.

A special demo vehicle in the booth was Mark Adams’ Prius that was an entry in a recent Sony ES Build contest. Car Toys Tulsa did the extreme custom installation and the Car Toys Tulsa entry finished in the Top 10 entries from across the U.S.

Stewart added “Mark was in the booth all day each day of the show. During the event he did well over 100 demos for event attendees. Our loaded pickup and motorcycle in the booth also kept show goers in our booth to experience the maxed out Rockford Fosgate systems in those demos.”

Concluding Stewart added “We got a ton of exposure for Car Toys plus a large number of very positive leads and scheduled appointment in the store. Five members of the Car Toys staff rotated in the booth during the show and really pitched in. We had the store open too so our staff members had a lot to handle. On Sunday everyone was in the booth and did great job as we finished the event and moved out. We definitely look forward to the 2024 Starbird show.”

KICKER Returns to Lone Star Throwdown with Award-Winning Rides

STILLWATER, OK (02.22.23) – KICKER will sponsor the Lone Star Throwdown (LST) for the sixth straight year, bringing its 83-foot rolling showroom – the XRV (Xtreme Recreational Vehicle). The XRV displays the complete line of KICKER audio gear and houses the “Boom Room” with an entire wall full of 15-inch, Solo-Baric L7S subwoofers and 40,000 watts. The show will take place Feb. 24-26 at the Lone Star Expo Center in Conroe, Texas.

KICKER will run two consumer contests simultaneously during the show as part of the brand’s marketing plan. One includes a 1,200-watt bass package giveaway consisting of a pair of CompRT 10-inch subwoofers with a 1,200-watt mono amplifier. Three demo vehicles will accompany the XRV – all loaded with KICKER gear. A pair of Solo-Baric L7T thin square subwoofers deliver the bass. In addition to the C1500, a 2002 Lightning and 1956 Chevy wagon will also park under the XRV’s awning.

More than 2,000 show cars have already pre-registered, and LST officials anticipate attendance exceeding 15,000 people. Top 100 and best-of-show awards will be presented, along with several cash prizes.

Code Zero Customs Returned to the Starbird Show as an Event Sponsor

TULSA, OK (02.21.23) – Code Zero Customs had a major presence at the recent Starbird Show in Tulsa. The event, the 59th Annual, was held in the Tulsa Expo Center February 16th-19th. PITTSBURGH, PA (02.20.23) – The Pittsburgh International Auto Show was back at the David L Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh February 17th thru 20th. The 4-Day show brought exciting new vehicles, displays, products and fun for the whole family. In all the show featured 21 makes and models of vehicles from around the world.

Team Nutz, proactive 12volt and automotive aftermarket retailer, was once again on site. This year, the Team Nutz occupied a 6,500 square foot booth in the Convention Center. Team Nutz has been exhibiting at the Pittsburg Auto Show for over 15 years. During the show at times there were more than a dozen members of the Team Nutz crew engaged with show attendees in meaningful one-on-one conversations and demonstrations.

For Team Nutz Ed Nuttall stated “Our booth was filled with demo vehicles, a big selection of wheels, OEM Display, a Marine display, a wide variety of product displays plus live installations of vehicle wraps, bed liner jobs, paint protection polishing, window tinting, leather Katzkin seat installations and DSP audio demos. One of the wrap demos projects was a full wrap of our new 24’ Team Nutz Trailer. With bed liner we are actually coating the bodies of pickups and cars.”

Nuttall continued “Standouts for demo vehicles was the International All Ways Safe truck loaded with Memphis Audio that debuted at SEMA 2021. Motorcycle and powersports displays also grabbed eyeballs and having the high school students attend on Friday morning was a great opportunity to connect with younger consumers. During the event a crew from the local CBS station was on site at the show and showed a clip of them in our booth checking out paint protection on a demo car. That will turn into more great visibility.”

KICKER Marine Audio is showcasing the revolution tower systems, amplifiers and speakers. There will be onsite sales with KICKER dealer El Capitan Sports Center. Wet Sounds has a large booth on the event floor and is showcasing the company’s 2023 line up of marine products. Audison and Hertz are demoing the company’s marine products in 4 boats outside at the Venetian Marine dock.

AAMP Global Announces Alex Camara to Leave the Company and Remain an Investor

CLEARWATER, FL (02.15.23) – AAMP Global announced today that Alex Camara will be leaving his position as EVP, AAMP Global & President, AudioControl to pursue new opportunities, effective March 1, 2023. Camara will remain a shareholder in AAMP Global and an observer to the company’s board of directors.

Camara acquired AudioControl in 2013, advancing the company to become one of the most trusted and relied-upon suppliers in both the professionally installed home entertainment and 12-volt automotive aftermarket channels. Under Camara’s leadership, AudioControl consistently experienced double-digit growth while simultaneously garnering numerous awards for design innovation, product quality, and outstanding customer service.

AAMP Global acquired AudioControl in April 2022 with the goal of leveraging numerous market and operating synergies between the two businesses. In the past year, Camara has worked with the AudioControl and AAMP Global teams to help integrate and drive the 12-volt business, while also leading AudioControl’s residential and commercial audio business.
