NAV-TV Adds Audi MIB3 Infotainment Platform Compatibility to ZEN-V Advanced Amplifier Interface

CORAL SPRINGS, FL (04.02.2021) – NAV-TV Corp. has announced that Audi MIB3 has been added to the ZEN-V compatibility list.

The ZEN-V advance amplifier interface is now compatible with 2020 and 2021 Audi vehicles equipped with the MIB3 system. The ZEN-V allows the seamless addition of aftermarket amplifiers into compatible vehicles, delivering audiophile-quality sound without compromising the vehicle’s factory fit, finish or features. ZEN-V is the first aftermarket product utilizing MOST®150 globally.

Follow @navtv_usa on instagram

Utilizing the same processing power as NAV-TV’s competition proven M650-GM, the ZEN-V produces a completely flat audio output without any factory time delay or equalization, eliminating the need for summing devices, an audio correction DSP or the removal of the factory audio compensation microphones.  Installation of the interface requires no modification to the vehicle and is compatible with both amplified and non amplified factory systems.

Volume, Fade, Balance and Bass/Treble tone controls are retained through the factory radio and echo cancelation for the factory Bluetooth hands-free system is supported.

Utilizing a 128 bit floating point DSP and 192 kHz 32 bit DAC, the ZEN-V produces a 12 channel analog output with a S/N Ratio of 112dB. For vehicles with video playback capability, the ZEN-V supports 7.1 and 5.1 audio[1}. The unit provides a 500mA output for controlling aftermarket devices and, additionally, retains the factory equalizer.

For use with 3rd party digital sound processors, the ZEN-V  includes a variable TOSlink digital output which may be used simultaneously with the analog outputs, or by itself. The variable digital output allows for the system volume to be controlled via the factory radio and steering wheel controls without the need to access any 3rd party controller.

For ease of use, the ZEN-V  is configurable through dip switch settings.  User selectable features of the ZEN-V are:

 ·         Optional time alignment to driver

·         Full scale audio or -12dB attenuation

·         7.1 downmix to stereo on TOSlink or TOSlink mapped to the front outputs

·         Loudness on or off

·         Enables factory subwoofer control

Vehicles will require the additional MIB3-MOST PRG programmer prior to the installation of the ZEN-V[3]. The MIB3-MOST PRG is included in the MIB3 bundle and comes with unlimited usage.

The ZEN-V  MIB3 Bundle (NTV-KIT997) is currently available and shipping.

Audiomobile Ships Largest “Evo” Subwoofer

LAS VEGAS, NV (04.02.2021) – Audiomobile has introduced their latest ‘Advanced Technology’ car audio subwoofers – the EVO “24” Series.  Built on the proven performance of the highly-acclaimed Evo series platform, the EVO 2412 features an array of unique performance technologies, including low-profile SLX cast alloy frame, fully CNC machined motor, proprietary Shaped-Manifold-Gap (“SMG”) compact, vented motor, resulting in the longest excursion, slimline  subwoofer on the market.

  • Class-leading power-handling and excursion envelope
  • No axial motor-vent provides minimal enclosure depth
  • Premium “CLS” Kevlar Composite Laminated Sandwich cone
  • Shallow mounting depth of 117 mm / 4.6”

Rated at 500 watts RMS, the Evo 2412 delivers remarkable 16 mm of one-way linear Xmax, making it the longest excursion, slim-line, 12-inch subwoofer available.  This
rare combination of very low resonant frequency, plus modest VAS, allows it to deliver full-size 12 performance, but works optimally in enclosures under .65 cf, as well as in reflex / ported boxes, under .95 cf net volume.

The proprietary SMG motor includes a unique “thermal-transfer path,” which routes hot air away from the voice coil and motor, thru passages, that allow the heated air to be exhausted thru and dissipated by the cast aluminum frame, plus provides additional convection cooling to the huge conduction heatsink provided by the motor and extended gap-plate.  This dual mode technology offers significantly increased long-term power handling, and reduced power-compression at high-output levels.

In addition, the high-performance suspension features a heavy-duty 25 mm premium SBR rubber surround, 8” flat-spyder, with ‘in-line’ lead wires, to allow over 2-inches of peak to peak excursion provided by the unique motor.

This powerful, compact, proprietary motor design (1.5” deep), delivers symmetrical magnetic field, for reduced distortion and results in a driver without equal, in micro-box applications.

The MSRP on the Evo 2412 D4 is $495.00

WOW Electronics Brings Alpine “WOW” to the Showroom

EASTPOINT, MI (04.01.2021) – WOW Electronics recently completed a major showroom makeover at their Eastpointe store. The showroom now definitely has the Alpine ‘WOW’ factor.

Brothers Rick and JD Daniels have 2 locations in the Detroit area and decided to kickoff the 2021 season with a new look in their Eastpointe store showroom. The Alpine brand has been a staple with WOW Electronics for over a decade.

This image in the new showroom included senior Alpine staff members who took the short ride from Alpine’s HQ in Auburn Hills MI to experience the Alpine ‘WOW’ factor. JD Daniels-WOW, Mike Schafer-Alpine Area Rep, Rick Daniels-WOW, Ed Moriarty-Alpine Assistant VP, Chris Reavis-Alpine Brand Specialist, Kunihiko Sato-Alpine Sr Planning, Robert Hill-Alpine President and Dan Sparks-Alpine Sales Manager.

“Alpine has been very supportive through the years. When we decided to do the makeover of the showroom at our Eastpointe store we approached Alpine through our area representatives Mike Schafer and Dan Sparks. Very soon we got the go ahead and got started. The room itself, about 20’ by 30’, needed some work on the ceiling, floor and paint. While that work was being done, all was in progress at Alpine to send cool lifestyle graphics. Product and display items were soon shipped and we got going on the actual showroom setup,” JD Daniels related.

The Alpine Halo Wall of Bass is extremely loud and shakes the WOW walls!

Daniels continued, “It took about 5 full days to assemble, set up the displays and install all the Alpine gear. During that time Alpine team members Chris Reavis, Mike Schafer and Dan Sparks put in many hours to bring it all together. After a few adjustments the showroom in the store definitely rocked with the Alpine ‘WOW’ Factor.”

Once the room was completed a meeting was set for senior staff members from Alpine Electronics Auburn Hills MI HQ to make the short trip to experience the new WOW Electronics showroom and the Alpine ‘WOW’ factor.

Customers entering the store proceed into the showroom and experience the Alpine ‘WOW’ factor.

“Everyone at the meeting saw and felt the Alpine ‘WOW’ Factor. Our customers definitely do also. Our store is setup so traffic flows into that showroom. We keep music playing all the time. When we crank the volume, and customers hear and feel the 12 Alpine subs, their eyes light up and there is a smile on their face. Very importantly too, they are making an Alpine purchases and telling their friends,” Daniels concluded.

The Team at WOW Electronics makes frequent social media posts and highlight the Alpine ‘WOW’ factor in the new showroom.

The Daniels brothers have been in the electronics business for parts of 3 decades. Part of that time was with cellular telephone stores in the early days. We’ve Only Wireless became today’s WOW Electronics.

A big 12volt Thank You to all that contributed to this article with phone calls and txts. Thank you to Chris Reavis for the super images.

KENWOOD Introduces the World’s First Anti-Viral Receiver

LONG BEACH, CA (04.01.2021) – KENWOOD USA has introduced a new line of MASK CD receivers with ZapoGerm technology. The eXcelon KDC-X569UV kills germs and viruses on the surface of CD’s. How does it work? A CD is placed in the CD receiver and bathed with excessive Ultraviolet light while it’s playing. In testing, this treatment has been shown to mitigate the transfer of COVID-19, COVID-20, the common flu and a host of other germs and viruses that live on the surface of objects by up to 28%. Dave Hoag, JVCKENWOOD’s Executive VP stated: “This is the first environmentally and socially conscience automotive receiver to come to market. It’s a game changer.”

KENWOOD plans to expand this technology into DVD receivers in late 2022. Mike Roberts, KENWOOD’s VP of Sales and Marketing said: “We wanted to start with CD receivers because they represent a segment of the market that could use a boost from a breakthrough technology like ZapoGerm. It’s a perfect time to revive the iconic MASK line of receivers and bring them into the 21st Century.”

When asked if the UV light in the CD receiver could affect the laser’s ability to track the CD, Rick Noetzli, KENWOOD’s Sr. Product Manager said: “The light only diminishes the receiver’s ability to read the disc by 15%, and we found that playback fidelity only decreased 15-18%. Our study groups showed that the compromise was still better than most compressed audio files, and acceptable for people to finally feel safe in their cars.”

The KDC-X569UV will be available in early 2022, at a projected retail price of $699.00 (based on decreased chip availability, increased parts costs, tariffs, and shipping costs).

For detailed information on specific features of the receiver, please view its respective product page at www.kenwood.com/usa/car.

Wilson Electronics Announces Most Powerful RV Cell Booster on the Market – weBoost Destination RV

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (04.01.2021) Wilson Electronics has announced the launch of the weBoost Destination RV, a powerful, consumer-friendly cell signal booster designed to provide solid cellular connectivity in stationary touring and destination RVs, toy haulers and trailers. Compatible with all mobile devices and wireless carriers in North America, the booster allows users to enjoy optimal call quality, fewer dead zones, uninterrupted texts and faster data streaming.

“As the pandemic continues, more and more people are turning to RVs as a safe, responsible way to travel and get beyond their homes’ four walls,” said Wilson Electronics’ CEO Bruce Lancaster. “ The Destination RV is the obvious choice for anyone that’s looking to ensure strong cell signal on any cellular-connected device, no matter where ‘home’ is that month.”

Over the past year, the RV industry has seen huge growth. In an industry previously dominated by retirees, RVs are now being increasingly utilized by young families and couples as remote working and learning opportunities have increased. In fact, 82% of first-time campers in 2020 had children in their household, and interest in full-time RVing is highest among millennials, according to Kampgrounds of America’s annual North American Camping Report. These younger campers need consistent access to technology in order to meet remote work and learning responsibilities, but the Wi-Fi offered by campgrounds is often too weak or spotty to be reliable for these needs.

The weBoost Destination RV provides the perfect solution. Whether to stay safe in emergencies, connect with friends and family, or continue to work and learn remotely from anywhere, weBoost’s new booster is a simple, reliable way to improve cellular connectivity in RVs, toy haulers and trailers.

The Destination RV combines the mobility of an RV cell signal booster kit with the power of a residential cell signal booster. Utilizing the weBoost Home MultiRoom’s powerful amplifier and external antenna to provide a max gain of 65 dB, the Destination RV can reach far away cell towers with ease. The weBoost Destination RV is also optimized for the continued rollout of 5G and prepared to boost cell signal for all major carriers for the next decade and beyond.

Out of the box, the Destination RV features everything needed for easy, do-it-yourself installation, including:

  • Cell signal booster
  • Inside antenna
  • Outside directional antenna
  • 25 ft. telescoping pole
  • Outside antenna mounting hardware
  • Power supply and cables

How it works: The powerful exterior antenna reaches out to cell phone towers to receive a signal. The Destination RV booster receives this outside signal and amplifies it using a series of sophisticated low noise amplifiers and filters. This amplified signal is broadcast through the inside antenna and back to the tower, providing stronger, more reliable calls, texting and data in the RV.

Installation takes about 30 minutes for most consumers, and each subsequent takedown and setup when changing the RV’s stationary location takes about 10 minutes.

Certified by the FCC and Industry Canada and pre-approved by all carriers, the weBoost Destination RV is now available for purchase online at weBoost.com, weBoost.ca, or through authorized resellers for $649.99 USD or $899.99 CAD. The only cellular booster company that designs, assembles and tests its products solely in the U.S., all weBoost cellular signal boosters feature a two-year manufacturer’s warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

SSR Distributors Joins Elite Distributor Alliance

SEATTLE, WA (03.30.2021) – With one day shipping from seventeen distribution centers, Elite Distributor Alliance (EDA) has broadened its footprint with the addition of SSR Distributors to the group.  EDA estimates that with this addition over 20% of the 12 volt product sold in the United States now flows through an EDA member.

“What Amir Dhahani and the team at SSR Distributors have achieved matches really well with EDA.”, said Jim Warren, Executive Director of EDA.  He added, “The line mix, velocity, and approach to the market makes for a very good fit.”

Amir Dhahani

Amir Dhahani added, “We are excited that our company got the opportunity to join such a great group. Our core values align with this association and I look forward to learning from and networking with experienced and principled business partners. I believe working with EDA will open up opportunities to demonstrate that distributors are an important asset to our industry.”

SSR Distributors is a family owned and operated business founded in 1998. With decades of experience and a wide range of product selection SSR has become one of the largest 12-Volt distributors in the country. They currently serve the 4-state territory Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

John Yodzis, one of the officers of EDA, and president of DOW Electronics said, “We looked long and hard at solutions for the Texas and surrounding market.  My company, DOW, has a strong presence in the same markets Amir serves, but we felt we needed one more member to really round things out.  Over and over again we kept coming back to SSR due to their customer service and strong reputation.  Here at DOW we’re really excited about jointly meeting the needs of the Texas and surrounding markets.”

EDA has grown substantially over the last four years and now is exclusively building and marketing a number of twelve volt brands including SPL Boxes, Triton Audio, and Nustart.
