The Greenwood District was once characterized by bustling streets with hotels, theaters, doctors offices, restaurants, nightlife establishments and more. As one of the most prosperous African-American communities in the United States, the district would earn the name, “Black Wall Street”. On May 31, 1921 a white mob attacked black residents and destroyed homes and businesses of the Greenwood District. The Tulsa Race Riot, as it’s now known, is considered the single worst incident of racial violence in American history. The Black Wall Street Rally keeps the memory of the prosperous times alive while shining a light on the atrocities that occurred there just over 100 years ago with a motorcycle inspired event held in the historic Greenwood District. The rally will not condone any form of racism, sexism, intolerance, anti-Semitism, white supremacy or hate speech.
12VOLT CENTRAL STUDIOS (04.13.24) The 12volt Spin-to-Win Wheel was created to bring an element of fun to the 12volt industry. The weekly 12volt Spin-To-Win Wheel is now spinning in Year 6.
The 12volt Spin-To-Win Wheel rolled for the 267th time on Friday morning April 12th. The Wheel landed on the Q Power space and the Audio Systems slip was drawn from the jar. An Instagram post of the winning slip was posted. A video of the Wheel spin was also posted.

The horrific weather earlier in the day didn’t stop local business owners and their respective staff members from participating. The Retail Experience outlines the retail environment from the customers point of view. STILLWATER, OK (04.11.24) – SkillsUSA prepares students for the workforce and students in the Mobile Electronics Division will compete for recognition at the National Competition in Atlanta. The conference will be held at the Georgia World Conference Center in Atlanta and attract over 6500 competitors in 110 competitions.
KICKER Audio is a strong supporter of the SkillsUSA initiative. Aaron Malin, TECH Force Global Training Manager, has participated in previous SkillsUSA National Conferences. Malin and Jacob Luckey, KICKER Global Trainer, will be headed to Atlanta for the 2024 Skills USA Conference June 26th and 27th.

On Thursday, April 11th, the local SkillsUSA Mobile Electronics Installation competition takes place at the Meridian Technology Center in Stillwater OK, Malin will be on site as students prepare to showcase their installation and communication skills to judges The stakes are high with only three winning spots available for the State high school and secondary/college level competition.
“Each student prepares to perform to their best abilities for the judges. Some of the stations include soldering, wiring speakers and identifying components. Students will be judged on their proficiency in those particular skills and only the top four were chosen to go to state competitions” Malin stated..
Jacob Lucky constructed this amplifier installation and tuning test rig for the SkillsUSA contest. He built four of them and will provide basic plans and discounted products will be provided for schools that want to build their own.
SkillsUSA works to bring motivated individuals to the workforce and teach them lifelong skills. There are local, state and national competitions with 53 states participating, according to SkillsUSA.org. Its mission is to empower its members to become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens.
The 12-volt industry is in need of more sharp-minded employees to bring new ideas to the table. The overall employment of mobile electronics installers and technicians is projected to show little to no change from 2021 to 2031, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics years.
Jacob Luckey built this subwoofer wiring test station. Four were built for the contest and they will be used at the state championships as well. After the state contest all eight rigs will be shipped to Atlanta where they will be utilized for the national competition this year and beyond.
“We hear from retailers on a regular basis that they cannot find qualified people to hire,” related Malin. “Take out qualified… they can’t find people to hire.” Malin will again be one of the judges for the National SkillsUSA competition and has been judging for three years. Malin added that many of the students are put in a position where they can find a suitable job by participating in SkillsUSA National Conference.
Through SkillsUSA, students have the opportunity to learn valuable lessons and make lifelong friends. “It is always exciting when you see the ‘lightbulb’ moment as something really clicks in the mind of a student,” Malin said. “The ‘ah hah!’ that lets you know they really got it! Last year at the national competition in Atlanta, one young man was so excited to introduce me to his mom and siblings after we really connected during his job interview competition. He experienced my admiration and his family’s proud moment, all at the same time.”
The Upcoming SkillsUSA Oklahoma State Conference in Tulsa will be a chance for local champions to compete for a spot at Nationals.
“Students not only receive valuable skills from these events, but also priceless communication skills. From difficult interviews, to speaking with industry professionals and presenting their skills they also learn difficult communication skills” stated Chris Jack, Technical Chairperson for mobile electronics installation, for SkillsUSA. “My father always said that “I don’t care if you’re going to wipe up dirt off the floor, wear a suit and tie to an interview…no matter what it’s for.”

Additionally, each day before the broadcast begins at 2 pm, SiriusXM will provide live look-in coverage of featured groups during its programming in the morning and early afternoon so listeners can follow the play of groups playing earlier in the day.
Mike Tirico returns as SiriusXM’s lead play-by-play voice for all four Tournament rounds. He will be joined on the broadcast all four days by Steve Melnyk, who competed in five Masters Tournaments and will be SiriusXM’s main analyst. In 1971 Melnyk was the low amateur at the Masters and the following year competed to a tie for 12th place at Augusta National after winning that year’s Par 3 Contest.
On the course, SiriusXM’s commentators will be John Maginnes, who will be calling the action on the second hole and at “Amen Corner” (11th, 12th and 13th), Brian Katrek, on the 5th, 15th and 16th holes, Maureen Madill on the 8th and 17th, and Johnson Wagner on the 4th, 13th and 14th.
Augusta National Women’s Amateur
SiriusXM will provide live coverage of the final round of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur on Saturday, April 6 (noon – 3 pm ET). SiriusXM’s Chantel McCabe and Fred Albers will host the broadcast, with special commentary from Annika Sorenstam and Nancy Lopez. Sorenstam will also have a one-on-one interview with the Augusta National Women’s Amateur champion on a new episode of her SiriusXM show, “Annika,” airing Tuesday at 7 pm ET.
Masters Par 3 Contest
SiriusXM’s live coverage of the 2024 Masters Par 3 Contest will air on Wednesday, April 10 (2 pm ET). David Marr III will host the coverage alongside World Golf Hall of Famer Hale Irwin, Fred Albers and Chantel McCabe.

Masters Radio on SiriusXM will feature comprehensive pre- and post-round coverage, as well as several specials airing throughout the week.
SiriusXM’s pre-round coverage will air live from 7 am to 2 pm ET Thursday and Friday, and 8 am to 2 pm ET on Saturday and Sunday. Taylor Zarzour and Brian Katrek will anchor the coverage, providing play-by-play updates on featured groups, with commentary from Bob Ford, Carl Paulson, David Marr and Greg DuCharme. Jim McLean and Jason Sobel will report from the Tournament Practice Area at Augusta National.
Immediately following each round, listeners will hear a live post-round show hosted by Gary Williams and Drew Stoltz.
On Thursday, SiriusXM will have live coverage of the Honorary Starters Ceremony and the opening tee shots of Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tom Watson, followed by interviews with these three legendary players. The introduction of the Honorary Starters and their tee shots historically precede the first tee time of the Tournament’s first competitive round, signaling the official beginning of Masters competition.
“Seve and Me” – SiriusXM will present an audio documentary dedicated to the legendary two-time Masters champion Seve Ballesteros (1980, 1983), and his influence on the successful Spanish players who have followed him in professional golf. Listeners will hear interviews with 2023 Masters champion Jon Rahm, 2017 Masters champion Sergio Garcia and 1994 and 1999 Masters champion Jose Maria Olazabel as they share their memories of Seve and the impact he had on their careers.
