LAS VEGAS, NV (08.27.2021) – AAPEX and the SEMA Show, the two events that make up the automotive aftermarket industry’s premier trade gathering during the first week in November, have released information regarding health and safety measures for their respective events in Las Vegas, Nevada.
AAPEX (November 2-4, Venetian Expo & Caesars Forum): The co-owners of AAPEX – the Auto Care Association and the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) – will require proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID PCR test administered prior to arrival in order to attend the 2021 event. AAPEX co-owners also are evaluating the potential for onsite testing for those unable to be vaccinated or to obtain a negative PCR test prior to the show. These measures will be administered through a third-party verification platform and on-site screening. Additionally, while subject to change, as of July 30, 2021, Nevada is requiring masks for all indoor events in Las Vegas. AAPEX will announce more details in the near future.
SEMA Show (November 2-5, Las Vegas Convention Center) organizers are taking into account that the COVID-19 landscape is changing week to week. The SEMA Show is working with state and local health authorities to announce more in the coming weeks concerning safety measures that will be required in November. While subject to change, as of July 30, 2021, Nevada is requiring masks for all indoor events in Las Vegas.

The NEXS1 is a Full HD Smart Dash Camera that works with your smartphone and the free Nexar safe driving app to record your drive and capture significant events. Technically advanced with a 140° Wide-angle lens, 1080p Full HD SONY Starvis Image Sensor, for ultra low-light visibility. A high precision G-Sensor detects impacts and also triggers the camera to turn on/off when you start/stop driving. A reliable and fast WiFi connection between your smartphone and camera means no lost connections or lost moments of filming.
The Nexar app (getnexar.com) is available worldwide and comes with 24/7 customer support and includes features like 1-Click reporting to submit an incident report directly to participating insurance companies. Auto-loop recording and retention of driving events utilizing the included 32GB Micro-SD card (supports cards up to 256GB), automatically deletes footage from the camera once its uploaded to the Cloud, freeing up storage space.
The NEXS1 dash cam comes in both a suction-cup or automotive grade adhesive mount, and is just one of four HD Smart Dash Cams – Powered by Nexar that will be demonstrated at SEMA and AAPEX.
Rockers and relays are things of the past with the introduction of the Scosche M8RIX (pronounced Mey-triks), a customizable power management system that distributes up to 120 amps of current to up to eight different accessories. This eight-channel controller lets you control switching of external devices, such as: lights, heated seats, winch, suspension, exhaust diverters, auxiliary batteries, solar panels, air compressors, airbags and hydraulics, hubs and axles, fridges and freezers, power inverters, windows and wipers.
M8RIX features a touchscreen interface and solid-state power module lets you control any 12V accessory on your vehicle, SxS, boat, or tractor. The touchscreen has a water-resistant housing and multiple mounting options. M8RIX features include: configurable channel names, functions, and icons; button functionality that can be triggered by either accessory or ignition power; selectable operating mode (momentary, on/off, strobe, or timer; time-out adjustment (1-60 sec in strobe or timer mode); and auto switch-off (turns off w/ ignition, accessory, stereo, or timer).
M8RIX’s Power Distribution Module has: a waterproof housing and connectors; the ability to Daisy-chain up to three modules for up to 24 channels total; Solid-state (MOSFET) power management; Aluminum housing with integrated heat sink; and it is mountable at any angle.
