ALLISON PARK, PA (12.18.23) – Harry Kroll’s 33 year career with Pioneer Electronics came to an unexpected conclusion in March of this year when he was diagnosed with ALS… known to many as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Harry, who is 59, was within 7 yeas of retirement. Since March Harry has lived at home with the loving care of his wife Deb. Deb and Harry celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary this past October. Their 24 year old daughter Lexie lives close by and also spends time caring for Harry.

In typical Harry style he repeats his manta each morning when he wakes up “HA! I am alive! I am giving ALS the middle finger…maybe both. One day this disease will win…but not today!”
Home health care for people diagnosed with ALS is very expensive as home health care before hospice is not covered by health insurance. Medical appliances, a special bed, a 5 figure wheel chair and more for Harry to be as comfortable as possible at home have been very expensive. Additional living comfortably at home expenses will continue.

A GoFundMe initiative was recently initiated for TEAM HARRY. To date there have been over 160 donations. Harry’s contributions to the growth and health of the 12volt industry have been very substantial. Harry’s training sessions extended to CMA in Canada.
During his career with Pioneer Harry conducted well over 1000 products training sessions across the US and beyond. During that time tens of thousands of 12volt industry staff members occupied the seats during his sessions in conference rooms and convention center halls. Very importantly Harry’s training sessions went well beyond just the features of a particular Pioneer product. He related how the sales person could present and explain explain those features to a customer and very importantly the advantages of those features and the benefit to the user. In the Dale Carnegie days that was the FAB presentation: Feature/Advantage/Benefit.

CHESHIRE, UK (09.01.23) – In April 2023, In Car Products Limited ended their UK distribution of CTK Sound Deadening. This was due to several issues with the supplier relationship and the overall future plans and road map for CTK in the UK.
Director, Daniel Molyneux said “Unfortunately after three years of being the UK Distributor for CTK Sound Deadening, which is manufactured in Ukraine, our relationship became strained and the uncertainty of the brand and decisions that were being made led to a change in our approach.”

FRESNO CA (12.28.22) On Saturday and Christmas Day Ray Aragon and his wife Maria delivered nearly 500 toys donated at the Audio Concepts 9th Annual Toys for Tots event in Fresno on Saturday, December 17th. BassWars, IASCA, USACi and EMMA competitions took place in the lanes. Competitors,144 strong, and others attending brought toy donations for the Toys For Tots drive.

Ray Aragon, Audio Concepts owner, related “On Saturday and Christmas day we visited 5 organizations in the Fresno area dedicated to helping unfortunate children and families. There were big smiles on faces at Angel House, Naomi’s House, Fresno Mission, Fresno County Foster and Fresno Rescue The Chuldren. This year’s Toys for Tots event was right up toward the top of our annual events. We had 476 toys donated. We thank each sound-off organization that dedicated so much time and energy for this event and worthy cause.”
Audio Concepts has 2 Crew Cab Silverados. “Maria and I carried out the boxes and set them in front of each location and let the children pick out 2 gifts a piece. It is so great to see the smiles on the faces of the children and parents” Aragon stated.
The Fresno Mission was another stop to deliver Toys for Tots donations Ray and Maria Aragon made on Christmas weekend.
Linda Kobayashi and husband Richard were once again onsite conducting action in the BassWars and EMMA lanes. “The annual Audio Concepts Toys for Tots is a well attended event involving several sound-off organizations. Attendees from all around the state are generous in giving toys for a great cause. Richard and I are grateful to work with Audio Concepts on sound-off events at their Fresno location throughout the year with the Toys for Tots event being one we look forward to doing the most each year” Linda related.

12VOLT CENTRAL STUDIOS (11.28.22) The Thanksgiving Holiday, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday were four days, virtually back-to-back, closing out the month of November 2022. Many companies across the 12volt industry made social media posts to put their messages, names and brands in front of consumers and followers to compete with all the online activity driven by Amazon and big box retailers.
Early reports are Black Friday online sales in 2022 reached $9.2 which showed a 2.3% increase over 2021. An interesting statistic revealed orders placed via smartphone were 48% of the total….an increase of 4% over 2021.
Slanginsound is known in Mesa AZ for the great deals and block-long lines in front of their store. During Black Friday they made this post to encourage consumers to come on in to grab a great deal. Super to see their jam packed showroom.
