LAFAYETTE, LA (09.09.2020) – Louisiana Jeepers hosted a supply drive for those impacted by Hurricane Laura on Saturday, September 5th. The shopping center parking lot, on busy Johnson Street in front of Ricky Smith’s Audio in Lafayette, was the site of the donation drive.
One of the trailers loaded full of donations on Saturday by Louisiana Jeepers.
Ricky Smith’s Audio’s Alan Benit related “There were over 30 members of Louisiana Jeepers who were under tents out front working to receive and pack the donations. As a group Jeepers really work together. The event was from 9AM until 1PM. They packed 3 trailers full of much needed supplies for people needing help from Hurricane Laura. Right at the end a Harley Davidson group came with even more donations.”

NEWARK, DE (09.08.2020) – Audioworks of Delaware joined KICKER and Opus Marketing in Ocean City, MD for Jeep Week 2020 August 27th-30th. KICKER was the Title Sponsor of Jeep Week 2020. However, due to COVID-19 travel limitations, KICKER was not able to have the same onsite presence with the XRV and staff as in past years of sponsoring the event.
The Audioworks of Delaware and Opus Marketing Teams under the main Kicker tent after setup.
Opus Marketing is the Kicker rep firm in the area and partnered with key dealer Audioworks of Delaware to maintain KICKER’s Livin’Loud presence as the Title Sponsor of OC Jeep for 4 years running.
Darren Thomas, Audioworks of Delaware owner, with the Matt Matheson standup. Due to COVID-19 travel limitations Matheson, KICKER Northeastern Regional, could not attend in person. The Opus Team commissioned the great standup.
“Audioworks of Delaware is located in Newark Delaware which is 115 miles from Ocean City. Darren Thomas, Audioworks owner, knows the value of connecting with consumers and especially Jeepers in the area. We put a plan in place to work OC Jeep Week together and it turned out very well…even though the weather knocked out the last day and a half of the 4-day event” Jamie White, Opus Marketing firm Principal related.
The Audioworks of Delaware Team Kyle Kessler, Tim Foltz and Darren Thomas (L to R) with Matt. Pete Herr from Audioworks could not be in the shot.
Thomas stated “It was a big step to take staff and inventory to Ocean City during a very busy time at the store. It turned out very well and could have been even better if the weather had cooperated. KICKER supplied 5 tents for our booth and onsite installation setup. Inventory was also made available to drive sales. We had a plan in place that offered after the event specials for attendees also. That plan generated strong sales the week following OC Jeep Week at our store.”
As long as the weather was good, the KICKER installation tents were filled with Jeeps.
Audioworks of Delaware staff onsite included Thomas, Kyle Kessler, Tim Foltz and Pete Herr. The Opus Marketing Team onsite was comprised of White, Bruno Berg, Chuck Ottati and Todd Ess. A special standup was created for Matt Matheson and was in the booth. Matheson is the KICKER Northeast Regional who remained at KICKER HQ in Stillwater, OK.

Continuing Thomas stated “We worked very well with the Opus Team. It was kind of a competition as we all worked to drive sales and get everything done. The vibe at the event was very good. We do a number of Classic Car Shows in the area and connecting with the Jeep crowd is always a lot of fun. Exhibiting at OC Jeep Week turned out to be a very good investment. We thank KICKER and Opus Marketing for the opportunity.”
A stormy Saturday morning with strong winds and rain lead to an early end to the 4-Day 2020 Jeep Week.
White concluded “OC Jeep Week turned out very well even though the weather messed up tents and cut the event short. We look forward to OC Jeep Week 2021.”
Great to see KICKER and the Opus Marketing rep firm working side by side with retailer Audioworks of Delaware to create consumer awareness and drive sales. Hat’s off to KICKER, Opus Marketing and Audioworks of Delaware.

AUBURN HILLS, MI (09.03.2020) – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. is now shipping the Alpine Halo Preloaded Subwoofers Enclosures with ProLink. Preloaded with Alpine’s S and R-Series 10-inch (S-SB10V and R-SB10V) and 12-inch (S-SB12V and R-SB12V) subwoofers, these enclosures feature new ProLink technology that allows the customer to link two enclosures together using the 10-inch (KTX-H10) and 12-inch (KTX-H12) optional Linking Kit. Six individual products give the customer the flexibility to choose their desired level of bass.
Introducing ProLink Alpine’s new ProLink technology was designed as an approachable and flexible upgrade path for the customer who has a single subwoofer but craves more bass in their sound system. While the previous option was to throw out the single enclosure and purchase a new dual enclosure, Alpine came up with a design that allows the customer to build on to their existing bass.
With Alpine’s new ProLink technology, the customer can link two single enclosures together using an optional Linking Kit (sold separately) to create a dual subwoofer enclosure. Unique to Alpine, this design gives the customer the flexibility in power and price to use a single subwoofer or add another subwoofer when more bass is desired.
New Alpine Halo Design Identity The Alpine Halo platform has a unique design that’s known in the industry for sleek, tapered lines and a clean silver finish that modernizes the look and feel of any vehicle.
Taking cues from this groundbreaking design, the Alpine Halo Preloaded Subwoofer Enclosures with ProLink feature the same unique, curved edges, outlined by silver trim. This matching look creates a new Alpine Halo Design Identity and allows the customer to purchase a complete display and sound system that elevates the interior of the vehicle.
Optimal Sound Performance As most preloaded subwoofer enclosures are similar in design and function, it can be difficult to find a uniquely designed enclosure that also optimizes your sound system’s performance. The Alpine Halo Preloaded Subwoofer Enclosures with ProLink are built for function and form.
The ported enclosure design features an optimized vent and rounded internal port edges that maximize the output performance of the subwoofer. The result is a higher total sound output for deep, powerful bass, reliable sound reproduction, and overall great sound quality.
Made from ¾-inch medium density fiberboard (MDF), the enclosures are built with sturdy, wooden, internal edge bracing around the corners of the enclosure for a system that’s built for reliable performance. Covered with a rugged, yet stylish black carpet cover, brush aluminum finish on the front baffle and finished with the Halo-inspired Silver trim, the subwoofers offer a custom look without the custom work.
Tuned for Alpine’s S and R-Series The Alpine Halo Preloaded Subwoofer Enclosures with ProLink come preloaded with an S-Series or R-Series 10-inch or 12-inch option which compliments each family’s complete sound system offerings.
The S-Series Preloaded Subwoofer Enclosures give the customer the best in performance value. With a preloaded S-Series subwoofer, the enclosures are tuned for optimized performance with Alpine’s S-Series speakers and are compatible with the S-A60M Mono Power Amplifier.
The R-Series Preloaded Subwoofer Enclosures are for the customer that’s looking for a loud and fun performance. The preloaded R-Series subwoofer is tuned to perform well alongside Alpine’s R-Series speakers and is compatible with the R-A75M Mono Power Amplifier.
The Alpine Halo Preloaded Subwoofer Enclosures are now shipping in both a 10-inch and 12-inch S and R-Series option with an optional Linking Kit and will be available at Alpine Authorized retailers or online at http://www.alpine-usa.com through Crutchfield. Installation options can be found on the Alpine-USA website through the store locator.
AUBURN HILLS, MI (09.02.2020) – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. is now shipping the PXE-X09 16-Channel Hi-Res Wireless Digital Sound Processor. With 16 input and output channels and on-board tuning tools, the PXE-X09 will bring out the full potential of your music for a better sound experience.
OEM Integration Modern factory systems pose a challenge to the discerning audio enthusiast who craves a premium music experience in their vehicle. With multi-channel sound systems pre-tuned to the specific vehicle environment and highly integrated displays that don’t have dedicated outputs for amplifiers, factory setups make it challenging to add aftermarket speakers or amplifiers without replacing the factory head unit.
Alpine’s new PXE-X09 has 16 channels of input and output that can manage even the most advanced factory sound systems and achieve a clean, full signal from the factory head unit.
The PXE-X09 hosts a collection of tuning tools such as the built-in signal generator and an on-board Real-Time Analyzer to help empower the tuner. Using these tools alongside the 10-band input EQ, 31 Band Parametric Output EQ, 1hz-step crossover, and up to 20ms of Time Correction, a tuner can dial in their system to perfection.
Configuration Wizard When trying to add speakers or amplify a sound system while retaining the factory head unit, a mobile audio specialist would have to grab all signals and sum them together to create one full-range signal, while also re-tuning what the vehicle manufacturer pre-tuned. With this flattened, full-range signal, the specialist would then amplify and output to upgraded speakers. This is very challenging without costly tools, training, and equipment as the mobile audio specialist may not know what signals are going to each speaker and may not have a way to sum them together.
The PXE-X09 seeks to solve this problem with the Configuration Wizard, a tool that allows the tuner to specify the components in a factory system, as well as the target aftermarket system layout, and then appropriately serve up only the appropriate channels in the app’s home screen, as well as logically mix the channels to get a full range signal for further tuning.
The Configuration Wizard, along with the other on-board tuning tools, can be accessed wirelessly via Bluetooth from a smartphone or tablet or through a wired USB connection for PC. By downloading the free PXE-X09 DSP app (available on the App Store or Google Play), customers can get real-time tuning results and compare them with the “Before” and “After” effect. Tuning files can be saved directly to a smartphone, hard drive, or thumb drive for storage and shared via text message or email.
Music on Command Quick sound adjustments can be made with the included LCD remote controller, which can be flush-mounted on the dash for easy access. The rotary knob can quickly adjust volume, preset storage and recall, subwoofer level, and source selection with results displayed on the LED screen.
While the PXE-X09 was designed to integrate into modern factory systems, it can also be used as a head unit or music source in older vehicles. The PXE-X09 can receive music sent directly from a smartphone with Bluetooth wireless streaming, so customers can listen to their playlists without replacing the factory head unit or adding an aftermarket head unit.
The PXE-X09 is now shipping for $1399.95 and will be available at Alpine Authorized retailers or online at www.alpine-usa.com through Crutchfield. Installation options can be found on the Alpine-USA website through the store locator.

LOS ANGELES (09.01.2020) – Massive Audio has announced the release of three new Nano Edge Amplifiers. The king of the hill is the new EX4R. This new Massive Audio EDGE Series Amplifier is a Full Range Multi-Channel Class AB Amplifier capable of up to 1200 Watts X 4 RMS depending on system configuration. The EX4R features a wide range of crossover adjustments Included is an X10 switch, allowing the Massive Audio EX4R to be programmed as either high pass or low pass using 3K Hz adjustable steps Up or Down or if desired as a Band Pass crossover combining a high and low pass filter. This flexibility optimizes it for use with raw drivers to allow more output control.
The inclusion of the differential input switch allows for twisted pair or single end RCA connections to eliminate all noise that can occur from different source units or due to difficult installations. Further inspection reveals their tried & true “N” drive MOSFET power supplies that ensure high performance for either casual listening or competition grade SQ systems. The EX4R includes many cutting-edge features like RCA inputs capable of processing RCA or Speaker levels signals up to 10 Volts. This built in OEM line converter eliminates the need for an additional component, reduces cost and is found in every “EDGE” Amplifier. RCA inputs take low level RCA or high-level direct speaker leads at up to 10 Volts in. This built in money saving OEM line converter is found in every “EDGE” model, and every Nano Edge model uses a DC off set music sensing system to activate the ATO (Auto Turn On). They feature variable LOW PASS, HIGH PASS and FULL RANGE crossovers for ultimate system flexibility. Stable at 1 Ohm with a high quality Class D PCB layout, selective Bass Boost EQ for fine tuning, soft delay remote turn on/off circuit that eliminates pops and clicks. Differential input switching and clip lights are also present on these two amplifiers.
OCEAN CITY, MD (08.31.2020) – KICKER was the Title Sponsor of OC Jeep Week for the 4th year running. Like so many things in today’s COVID-19 Pandemic world, KICKER’S presence changed at OC Jeep Week 2020.
Opus Marketing and Audioworks of Delaware Teams under the KICKER tent on Day-1.
KICKER staff members have not traveled during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Thus the KICKER XRV, normally with a major presence at the OC Jeep Week event, remained in Stillwater OK. The decision was made to continue with the Title Sponsorship and have a presence at the event with a key area retailer. The Opus Marketing rep firm, with all team members on site, coordinated KICKER’S presence at the event with area retailer Audioworks of Delaware. Darren Thomas, and his crew of 4, set up a large sales tent along with 4 additional KICKER tents for the installation of onsite sales.
Attendance was very good the first 2 days at OC Jeep Week.
“KICKER has been the Title Sponsor of OC Jeep Week for the past 4 years. KICKER receives a tremendous amount of brand awareness. The Jeep crowd in an awesome bunch of fun-loving, family oriented folks and Jeep Week always makes for a great event. With Opus Marketing and dealer Audioworks of Delaware handling the event the stage was set for another great OC Jeep Week” KICKER HQ related.
Jeepers, stretching into the distance, enjoyed the beach in Ocean City until the weather rolled into the area.
The Opus Marketing Team was headed by firm Principal Jamie White along with Bruno Berg, Chuck Ottati and Todd Ess. KICKER’S Eastern Regional Matt Matheson, who could not travel, was onsite in the form of a cool standup created by the Opus Team. With a smile and wave Matt was everywhere at OC Jeep Week 2020. The Audioworks of Delaware Team included Owner Darren Thomas, Kyle Kessler, Tim Foltz and Pete Herr.
Installations were going strong for the first 2 days of OC Jeep Week 2020.
“Audioworks of Delaware has been a great KICKER dealer for a long time now. They have wanted to participate in this event for a few years now and we were excited to be able to work with them finally this year. They loaded up with product and were on site in full-force creating sales and installs on site” Matheson stated.
Matt Matheson gives a big wave with the Audioworks of Delaware Team. Kyle Kessler, Tim Foltz and Darren Thomas owner of Audioworks of Delaware (LtoR).
With all in place OC Jeep Week 2020 kicked off on Thursday, August 27th. Day-1 saw good attendance with strong sales and all the installation tents filled. The OC Jeep Week KICKER Event party was well attended at Alley Oops that evening. With COVID-19 mandates this was the only scheduled evening event.
Heavy wind and rain blew through early Saturday morning sending tents through the air and bending frames.
Friday, Day-2, was equally productive with the Audioworks of Delaware and Opus Marketing Teams driving sales and installations.
Matt Matheson helped customers with questions about installations.
All changed in the early morning hours Saturday morning as remnants of Hurricane Laura, that devastated southern Louisiana Wednesday night, blew across Ocean City. Opus Marketing’s White related “When we got to the event site the tents had been blown around, were upside down and mangled. We cleared the booth area and reconfigured the tables. Stock for the event had been placed in an Audioworks of Delaware trailer so we were good to set up and start selling on Saturday morning.”
The Opus Team in pictured Wednesday evening during checkin with KICKER’s ‘Matt’. Bruno Berg, Todd Ess, Matt Matheson, Jamie White and Chuck Ottati.
By noon Saturday the weather reports called for more bad weather approaching. By mid-afternoon the decision was made to take every thing down, pack the trailer and put a wrap on KICKER’S booth at OC Jeep Week 2020.
Mangled KICKER large tent frame Saturday morning.
“All was on track to have a very strong total of KICKER sales. The pace was track to do that over the first 2 days and part of the 3rd day. Saturday’s business included a lot of take with sales before we packed and hit the road” White concluded.

MARIETTA, GA (08.28.2020) – AIS has announced the introduction of their new dual-color fog lights.
These new pro-series fog lights are the first ever where the driver can wirelessly change the color of the fog lights from 6500K (super bright white) to 3000k (yellow) at the push of a button on the dash. National Sales Manager, Cris Sharp explains, “This is an important safety feature because in a typical situation, the driver would use the white lights. However, in cases of extreme weather such as fog, rain and snow, the driver can change the lights to yellow providing better visibility by simply pressing a button installed on the dash. The fog lights have no moving parts such as fans, which means greater reliability in harsh environments where dirt and moisture have been a problem in the past.”
The lights require no additional wiring, as they plug directly into the factory harness. The lights are available in H7, H8, H10, H11, 9006, PSX24, PSX26 and 880/881.

PIGEON FORGE, TN (08.27.2020) – DS18 had a major presence on the grounds at the Smokey Mountain Jeep Invasion Thursday through Saturday, August 20th-22nd. The 3 big red DS18 tents, with the Big Bad Wolf highlighted, drew a big crowd of Jeepers throughout the event…despite the rain and winds. On Friday, strong winds sent some vendor tents into the air.
With the DS18 red tents, lower left, this image shows the scope of the outdoor area.
Rob Ferro, Mr DS18, along with Hery spent the days showing attendees all the latest from DS18. Jeep Gladiators and Wranglers, from DS18 Jeep Fans, also added to the excitement under the DS18 tents.
There was always a crowd around the DS18 booth with many Jeepers taking shots with their smartphones of the great demo vehicle installations.
Ferro relayed “Reports from the Jeep Invasion promoters said there were over 9000 Jeeps at the event. The total attendance was reported to top 20,000. In addition to the huge area outside, where DS18 was set up, the Le Conte Center was filled with vendors in the 100,000 foot facility.”
Even at night Jeepers could tell DS18 was saying “We Like It Loud.”
Continuing, Ferro offered “There was such a great vibe at the event. We worked with people in the booth to maintain social distancing and most understood. Quite a number of Jeepers in the booth commented about the design of our pods and the DS18 RGB lighting. All said that DS18 was the best.”
Rob Ferro-Mr DS18, surrounded by show stopping demos, embodied the great vibe at the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion.
DS18 was front and center at after show events too. All in all it was quite a journey for the DS18 crew as they drove the DS18 pickup, with Jeeps on a trailer, the 968 miles from Miami FL to Pigeon Forge, TN.
The journey to the Jeep Invasion was normal, but mechanical truck issues caused delays on the return to DS18 HQ in Miami.
Concluding, Ferro offered on a Facebook post “So I have been driving for 2 days and haven’t had an opportunity to thank everyone for the tremendous support and for those that drove hundreds of miles to show us your Jeeps and amazing builds. The energy you gave us is out of this galaxy. We are proud to have each and every one of you on our team. You are the best.”
