EDA Hosts First In-Person Conference in Park City, Utah

SEATTLE, WA (06.16.2021) – Elite Distributor Alliance hosted the industry’s first face to face meeting in Park City Utah at the Grand Summit resort.  All of EDA’s members and vendors attended the event and everyone was excited to be meeting in person.

L to R: Jim Warren (EDA), Josh Eatherly (P&E Distributors), Steve Irby (Kicker), Rob Limbaugh (Kicker), Lori Roberts (Kicker).

“After a year and a half of Zoom meetings it was so nice to actually be shaking hands and talking in person,” said Nalaka Adikari of Orca Designs.  Ron Trout with JVC added, “Wow!  EDA hosted an incredible event.  What a group of professionals, and to be able to actually sit at a table and talk was energizing.”

L to R: Josh Eatherly (EDA), Jake Bates (Metra), Jeff Fletcher (Metra

EDA presented two vendor awards at the conference.  Kicker received “Best Vendor in a Storm”.  The award was presented to Steve Irby, Rob Limbaugh, and  Lori Roberts by Josh Eatherly, EDA’s president.  Eatherly noted, “Kicker stood out throughout the pandemic.  Their ability to have product during a very difficult time was not only amazing, it likely saved many of our customers.”

EDA Members preparing to start the conference

EDA also presented Metra Electronics its Top Gun award.  “Metra was amazing,” said Nate Taliani, President of Davis Distribution. “They pulled out all the stops and consistently delivered at better than expected fill rates. They worked literally around the clock to deliver us product.  Because of this, as a group, we purchased more product from Metra than any one of our EDA vendors,” Taliani added.

L to R: Theresa and Josh Eatherly (P&E Distributors), Steve and Becky Irby (Kicker), Alex Camara (Audio Control), Rob Limbaugh (Kicker

EDA reported record sales for the year and estimates that 23.6% of all 12 volt product sold in the United States will flow through an EDA member in 2021.  With same day or one day shipping to all 48 states customers recognize the benefits of utilizing their local EDA member to allow them to react very quickly in a rapidly shifting marketplace.  Steve Cote from JVC said, “EDA members are increasingly becoming more and more important.  They have reacted faster than most and are building a solid and loyal following.”

Slamology 2021 Filled the Lucas Oil Raceway in Indy June 12th and 13th

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (06.15.2021) – The Slamology automotive and mobile audio-heavy show filled Lucas Oil Raceway June 12th and 13th. The massive grounds were filled with vendor displays, sound-off competition lanes, auto and truck displays and a large main stage area. Slamology also featured RC Racing, a tattoo competition, hydraulic contest, big-rig show and of course a bikini contest on the very hot stage.

The Main Stage was just one of the action centers at Slamology 2021.

In its 18th year, Slamology is billed as a “family friendly, yet edgy” event put on by Donnie Babb, the show organizer and founder. In its third year of sponsorship, KICKER has frequently attended as a corporate brand.

Billed as one of the largest car-stereo competitions in the country, Slamology played host to competition organizations MECA and dB Drag Racing, which had multi-point competitions at the Raceway during the weekend. In the spirit of mobile-sound competition, KICKER was Livin’Loud as the official car-audio contest sponsor for Slamology 2021 and conducted a huge contest in which one lucky show attendee won special KICKER product.

It was 5 lanes of SPL Madness during the MECA competition at Slamology.

Both MECA and dB Drag Racing competitions occupied large areas on parking lots. MECA Commish Steve Stern relayed “Slamology this year was 5 lanes of SPL Madness. In addition we had 25 SQL competitors in the lanes. Slamology this year was definitely a record turn-out in the MECA lanes.”

The dB Drag Racing lanes and area were packed at Slamology. 183dB was a big number on the meter.

Celise Harris related for dB Drag Racing “We knew the competitors were anxious to get back in the lanes to compete but the turnout at Slamology was beyond our expectations. The dB Drag lanes were non-stop all day long and there were a few world records set with one competitor hitting over 183 dB! We thank the competitors and judges for a great day. It was very hot and at least 4 people had to be taken to the hospital Saturday for heat exhaustion.

A number of DS18 rides showed all We Like It Loud!

DS18 was one of the 12volt companies with a booth and demos at the event. Anthony Kimble, Tech Support Staff member, offered “Slamology was a great show for DS18. We had supporters from all over with extreme builds having fun with their vehicles…with several Jeeps. At DS18 ‘We Like It Loud’. This year we were Loud and Hot as there were record setting temperatures.”

Trauma Car Audio with Damian, Paul and Steve (L to R) did a ton of demos for the company’s new Bluetooth Amplifier.

Trauma Car Audio has hit the 12volt scene with a Bluetooth enabled amplifier. Slamology provided a venue for the company to introduce that new product to a large audience of enthusiasts. Damian Reyes, along with Steve Garone and Paul Castellano, were in the booth providing demos for attendees. The booth demo was very unique as people could hear music from their smartphones through a speaker system set up a table in the booth.

“This was a great weekend for Trauma Car Audio. We met tons of cool people and did lots of demos. We sold amps and got quite a few dealers interested in our new Bluetooth amplifiers. We offered a raffle for one of our amplifiers and Pierce Wentworth will be receiving a TCS-M80.4d. Slamology 2021 was definitely a very productive show for Trauma Car Audio.”

Watch for more from Slamology 2021 as there will be more from this very strong event.

The downtown Butler Jeep Invasion witnessed over 1000 Jeeps parked along main street and parking areas in the town of approximately 13,000 located 35 miles north of Pittsburgh. The crowd for the Main Street evening festival.

Team Nutz is a proactive 12volt retailer located in Pittsburgh and returned to the Bantam Jeep Festival for the 2021 run. Ed Nuttall related “The JeepFest draws thousands of Jeepers, enthusiasts and their rides. That crowd is noted for adding aftermarket products to their rides. We do a lot of Jeep upgrades, and being so close to our store in Pittsburgh, it makes perfect sense for our brand to be on site. I did not attend this year but we had a great crew on site with vendor support, a large booth area with multiple tents plus several demo vehicles. Sales this year were the best ever and our team made contact with quite a number of promising prospects.”

The vendor area covers many acres with vendor booths spread throughout
A portion of the Team Nutz booth area.

Gosnik stated “The 2021 Bantam JeepFest was just what everyone needed after a year of the pandemic. It was great to see everyone unite over the love of Jeeps. For Team Nutz it was great for sales and getting our name out there that we support small business and the Jeep community as well as the aftermarket community in general. Everyone came together as a family at The Bantam Jeep Festival. Can’t wait until next year.”

The Team Nutz crew on site included Vince Murray, Christian Venn, Rusty North and Mike Gosnik (L to R).
