LAS VEGAS, NV (06.23.2021) – Kingpin University (KPU) announced a working agreement with CAMaster, renowned maker of CNC routers based in Cartersville, Ga. Under the agreement, CAMaster will provide reduced pricing for its CNC routers to attendees of Kingpin University training courses. In addition, CAMaster’s company trainers will participate in drafting curriculum for KPU courses to educate fabricators on advanced CNC router use and capability.
CAMaster develops and manufactures industry-specific CNC routers with a blend of high performance and value pricing. The company produces five series of CNC routers comprising eight models ranging from heavy industrial to desktop application. Instruction at Kingpin University will involve the Panther Series and versions 2 and 3 of the Stinger Series, as these are best suited for mobile electronics retailers.
“In all of the research we’ve done on CNC manufacturers, we found that CAMaster had the best overall combination of product reliability, choice, price for value and support,” said Jason Kranitz, founder and lead instructor at Kingpin University. “We were especially impressed with the company’s after-sale interaction and opportunities for continued learning. Our goal is to bring our students the deepest level of knowledge about the products they use to grow their careers, and anytime you have a manufacturer willing to join you in that quest, it’s a good thing.”

“We are pleased to forge a partnership with Kingpin University,” said Cody Smith, director of sales at CAMaster. “While we produce what we feel are the most premium CNC routers on the market, we equally value the community around the craft. Jason and Kingpin share our commitment to growth through education and sharing experiences, and we are excited to partner with them.”

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (06.18.2021) – 2021 Slamology is a wrap! The dBDRA would like to thank all the competitors, judges, sponsors and Slamology crew for a great weekend. The dB Drag Racing lanes stayed busy all weekend with competitors and spectators. All formats of dBDRA competition qualified on Saturday prior to 4pm and then elimination rounds of Bass Race proceeded. Bass Race is competition of skill as the goal is to get as close to a 129.9 dB, 139.9 dB or 149.9 dB without an overshot. The competition was a super close race with several ties and competitors winning within 1/10 of a dB!

It was great to see so many new competitors in the lanes with over 35 first time dB Draggers entering the competition. Many of them entered the Freestyle format, where the competitor can place the sensor (microphone) anywhere in front of the B-Pillar. The competitor is allowed doors open or closed, 2 runs back to back, and the highest of the 2 scores is recorded. A first time dB Drag competitor won the Super Street X Freestyle class as well as the Psychlone DEMO class!

The loudest recorded dB Drag score of the weekend (and for the USA) was Extreme NL competitor, Team Soundcheck with a score of 183.1 dB! Several windshields were shattered over the weekend as the SPL and the HEAT was intense! Congrats to everyone on a great show.

EDA Members preparing to start the conference
EDA also presented Metra Electronics its Top Gun award. “Metra was amazing,” said Nate Taliani, President of Davis Distribution. “They pulled out all the stops and consistently delivered at better than expected fill rates. They worked literally around the clock to deliver us product. Because of this, as a group, we purchased more product from Metra than any one of our EDA vendors,” Taliani added.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (06.15.2021) – The Slamology automotive and mobile audio-heavy show filled Lucas Oil Raceway June 12th and 13th. The massive grounds were filled with vendor displays, sound-off competition lanes, auto and truck displays and a large main stage area. Slamology also featured RC Racing, a tattoo competition, hydraulic contest, big-rig show and of course a bikini contest on the very hot stage.
The Main Stage was just one of the action centers at Slamology 2021.
In its 18th year, Slamology is billed as a “family friendly, yet edgy” event put on by Donnie Babb, the show organizer and founder. In its third year of sponsorship, KICKER has frequently attended as a corporate brand.
Billed as one of the largest car-stereo competitions in the country, Slamology played host to competition organizations MECA and dB Drag Racing, which had multi-point competitions at the Raceway during the weekend. In the spirit of mobile-sound competition, KICKER was Livin’Loud as the official car-audio contest sponsor for Slamology 2021 and conducted a huge contest in which one lucky show attendee won special KICKER product.
It was 5 lanes of SPL Madness during the MECA competition at Slamology.
Both MECA and dB Drag Racing competitions occupied large areas on parking lots. MECA Commish Steve Stern relayed “Slamology this year was 5 lanes of SPL Madness. In addition we had 25 SQL competitors in the lanes. Slamology this year was definitely a record turn-out in the MECA lanes.”
The dB Drag Racing lanes and area were packed at Slamology. 183dB was a big number on the meter.
Celise Harris related for dB Drag Racing “We knew the competitors were anxious to get back in the lanes to compete but the turnout at Slamology was beyond our expectations. The dB Drag lanes were non-stop all day long and there were a few world records set with one competitor hitting over 183 dB! We thank the competitors and judges for a great day. It was very hot and at least 4 people had to be taken to the hospital Saturday for heat exhaustion.
A number of DS18 rides showed all We Like It Loud!
DS18 was one of the 12volt companies with a booth and demos at the event. Anthony Kimble, Tech Support Staff member, offered “Slamology was a great show for DS18. We had supporters from all over with extreme builds having fun with their vehicles…with several Jeeps. At DS18 ‘We Like It Loud’. This year we were Loud and Hot as there were record setting temperatures.”
Trauma Car Audio with Damian, Paul and Steve (L to R) did a ton of demos for the company’s new Bluetooth Amplifier.
Trauma Car Audio has hit the 12volt scene with a Bluetooth enabled amplifier. Slamology provided a venue for the company to introduce that new product to a large audience of enthusiasts. Damian Reyes, along with Steve Garone and Paul Castellano, were in the booth providing demos for attendees. The booth demo was very unique as people could hear music from their smartphones through a speaker system set up a table in the booth.
“This was a great weekend for Trauma Car Audio. We met tons of cool people and did lots of demos. We sold amps and got quite a few dealers interested in our new Bluetooth amplifiers. We offered a raffle for one of our amplifiers and Pierce Wentworth will be receiving a TCS-M80.4d. Slamology 2021 was definitely a very productive show for Trauma Car Audio.”
Watch for more from Slamology 2021 as there will be more from this very strong event.

We do a lot of Jeep upgrades, and being so close to our store in Pittsburgh, it makes perfect sense for our brand to be on site. I did not attend this year but we had a great crew on site with vendor support, a large booth area with multiple tents plus several demo vehicles. Sales this year were the best ever and our team made contact with quite a number of promising prospects.”
The vendor area covers many acres with vendor booths spread throughout
