SEMA Ignited Capped a Very Busy SEMA Show 2021

LAS VEGAS, NV (11.08.2021) – The SEMA Show 2021 capped the 4-Day November 2-5 run with a very busy final day that culminated with SEMA Ignited. Show vehicles rolled out and onto the streets of Vegas as enthusiasts lined the route and applauded the great parade of vehicles.

Cars rolled out of the LVCC as the SEMA Ignited activities began on Friday afternoon.
On Day-1 of SEMA 2021 the Central Hall was packed with attendees checking out the latest from exhibiting companies.

The SEMA Show 2021 was the first in-person full-capacity event at the expanded LVCC. In addition the new West Hall, with 1.4 million square feet of space, was home to hundreds of exhibiting companies focused of the truck and motorsports categories. This expansions of space led to less crowded aisles in other LVCC halls.

Team Nutz crew members, Ed, Mike and Ben (L to R) at SEMA are dedicated 12volt retail specialists and helped tremendously with images and info for 12volt Central Studios coverage.

The SEMA Show 2021 was the first automotive aftermarket event since the COVID-19 Pandemic. In that atmosphere there was considerable uncertainty on the part of exhibitors and attendees. Also in the forefront is the continuing product shortages. Overall many exhibitors exhibitors reported a productive show as attendees indicated seeing new products and networking was very positive.

This Classic Caddy in the HushMat booth grabbed attention in Hot Rod Alley with an image from Tim McCarthy.
Sony won Best New Mobile Electronics for the XAV-9500ES and Mike Rundel proudly holds the trophy.

A great amount of credit goes to exhibitors who expended large amounts of time, energy and funds to set up their booths, showcase their latest products and interact with attendees in Vegas. Likewise much credit goes to dealers and others committed to making investments to grow their respective businesses.

The new Beyma booth, with the new Nakamichi booth in the background, were both very busy in the North Hall during SEMA 2021.

Metra Electronics Ships New Projector LED Bulbs by Heise

HOLLY HILL, FL (11.08.2021)Heise LED Lighting Systems by Metra Electronics is now shipping four new LED bulbs designed and optimized specifically for projector housings, but with the benefit of an instantaneous full lumen start-up, efficient LED output, and longer lifespan. The Heise HE-9005X fits 9005 housings, the HE-9006X fits 9006 housings, the HE-H7X fits H7 housings, and the HE-H11X fits H11 housings. These solutions are on display now at the 2021 SEMA Show with Metra Electronics.

The high-performance LED bulbs feature a built-in EMI filter to avoid any potential radio reception interference. A slimmer side cable connection and tool-less rotatable collar allow for an easier installation and fast beam pattern adjustment. To increase their lifespan, the bulbs are built with all-metal construction, utilize an intelligent temperature system with a copper vacuum liquid heat pipe, and have a dual ball bearing fan. One set of 80-watt bulbs features 10,000 lumens and the bulbs are optimized so that more of the LED’s raw output is converted into usable light that the driver can actually see.

“While the LED output is an important specification when it comes to comparing bulbs, there is more to the story when it comes to projector housing optics. Brighter isn’t always brighter. Most LED bulbs are double-sided to simulate the output of a traditional halogen bulb. However, when they are installed into a projector housing, much of the light produced by the bulb can be trapped inside by the baffle, reducing the actual visible light. This can be a big difference just by using the wrong bulbs. When you’re driving at night, dimmer lights can impact your ability to stop in time to avoid a collision,” says Jason Anderson, VP of Product Research and Development at Metra Electronics. “Projector headlights are a very sophisticated optical device. Just like a telescope, every component has to be aligned perfectly to make the magic happen. Heise has engineered this series to do just that,” adds Anderson.

Heise’s new LED projector bulbs are now shipping and on display at Metra’s main SEMA Show booth #12141 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. A video showcasing the new bulbs can be seen at https://youtu.be/SVax2L4-LsQ and additional information and specifications are available at HeiseLED.com.

Heise Projector LED Bulb Specifications:

  • Instantaneous full lumen start-up
  • 10,000 lumens rating per set
  • 9-32V DC
  • 80 watts per set

  • Side-cable connection for slimmer installation
  • Tool-less rotatable collar for beam pattern adjustment
  • Built with all-metal construction
