DIAMOND BAR, CA (11.07.22) – SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) announces a five-year vision to expand the SEMA Show into an “all-city” experience. Officially called SEMA Week, the expansion’s goal is to create the most passionate and exciting automotive event in the world. SEMA Week will kick off in 2023 with new concepts, activities, and events introduced over the five-year roll-out period.
SEMA Week will be headlined by the SEMA Show, which will remain a trade-only event Monday through Friday. On Friday, the final day of the SEMA Show, a limited number of enthusiasts will be able to attend the SEMA Show through the Friday Experience program, which launched at the 2021 SEMA Show. Beginning on Friday evening of SEMA Week, SEMA will take over the Las Vegas Festival Grounds through Saturday night with an all-new SEMA Fest.
“We have been watching the connection between enthusiasts and our industry grow for more than a decade and, as the industry’s trade association, have a responsibility to help facilitate that connection in new and meaningful ways,” said James Lawrence, SEMA Chairman of the Board. “By creating SEMA Week and SEMA Fest, we will be able to maintain the integrity of the trade show that makes it a must-attend event for automotive professionals while introducing a new platform for enthusiasts and the industry to engage with one another.”
For 2023, SEMA Fest will take place at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds and be open to everyone, bringing together automotive enthusiasts with the aftermarket industry in a high-octane and immersive festival-like celebration of car culture. SEMA Fest will feature top music and entertainment, car show and cruise, VIP experiences, craft food, automotive celebrities, and motorsports. It will run alongside the popular SEMA Ignited Cruise and SEMA Show after-party, which draws thousands of enthusiasts on Friday night.
SEMA Week is also scheduled to include a SEMA Auction, featuring some of the best builds from SEMA and many more amazing vehicles to headline the festivities. SEMA will continue to expand and refine SEMA Week over the next five years, rolling out new events and activities throughout the city of Las Vegas. The evolution of SEMA Week preserves the trade aspects of the industry and business components of the SEMA Show, while enabling enthusiasts from all over to join in the festivities and enjoy car culture-focused events throughout the SEMA Week experience.

HOLLY HILL, FL (11.07.22) – Shuriken by Metra Electronics will introduce a new line of Lithium batteries at the 2022 SEMA show, November 1st-4th at the Las Vegas Convention Center. They also have a longer shelf life during storage and operate through many more cycles than conventional batteries. They feature built-in short circuit protection and are dry cell batteries, which eliminates the risk of spills. Lithium Battery Chargers Along with its line of new Lithium Series Batteries, Shuriken is introducing 3-Amp and 15-Amp chargers that keep these products fully charged and ready to perform. LAS VEGAS NV (11.04.22) – Memphis unveiled a fully custom Slingshot built for Shaquille O’Neil in the Memphis Audio booth 11039 at SEMA 2022. This custom Polaris Slingshot featured a slew of Memphis Audio products with over 28 total SR Pro Audio speakers and over 5400W of RMS power making it one of the loudest Slingshots to ever hit the streets.
The Insanely talented team at Underground Auto Styling out of Sarasota Florida custom fabricated everything on the build to make it worthy of DJ Diesel himself.
The Slingshot build for Shaq was a standout in the Memphis Audio booth 11039 in the North Hall at SEMA.
“This build is totally wild. We’ve got four 10 inch mid’s, eight 8 inch mid’s, four 6.5’s, two 6×9’s and six tweeters integrated into this build, not to mention four 8 inch subs!” said Jack Polubinski, owner of Underground Autostyling. Along with a plethora of speakers, the build features dual VIV1500.1V2 amplifiers and four VIV600.4V2 amplifiers. The entire system is controlled by an MXAZ24MC head unit and all the speakers are digitally tuned using the VIV68DSP Digital Sound Processor.
The custom work by the Underground AutoStyling crew drew raves from attendees.
“This isn’t the first project Memphis has worked on with Shaq, we had the honor of being part of previous custom builds for him but we wanted this one to be special. Shaq aka DJ Diesel knows how to get the crowd going and we knew he wanted it loud so Memphis and the guys at Underground Autostyling went with an insane SRX Pro set up to give Shaq the loudest build on the block. LAS VEGAS (11/02/2022) – The SEMA Show includes, for the first time, a 6,000-sq.-ft. area dedicated to helping businesses understand how to customize and/or repair vehicles that have Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS). Located in booth #36007 (Upper South Hall), the SEMA Show ADAS Showcase, sponsored by Enterprise Rental Car, features ADAS-related tools, equipment, demonstrations and experts throughout the four-day SEMA Show, November 1–4, in Las Vegas.
The new SEMA Show feature comes as consumer demand for, and OEM offerings of, ADAS increases. By bringing together industry experts, partners and suppliers, Showgoers can network and learn how vehicle modifications impact ADAS functionality. Showgoers can also see firsthand where a vehicle’s ADAS sensors are, how they work and how they are impacted by modifications.
“The SEMA Show ADAS Showcase is designed to help businesses stay in front of the technology and understand where the opportunities are,” said Tom Gattuso, SEMA vice president of events. “This is the ideal time to interact and speak directly with leading providers and experts in the ADAS space. It’s also a valuable opportunity to get hands-on experience with some of the tools and equipment, and witness live mock demonstrations.”
Located in booth #36007 (Upper South Hall), the SEMA Show ADAS Showcase features ADAS-related tools, equipment, demonstrations and experts throughout the four-day SEMA Show.
Visitors can meet with ADAS recalibration suppliers (Airpro, Autel, Burke Porter, Hunter and John Bean/Snap-on), and with ADAS service providers (Alldata, AsTech by Repairify, AutoTechcelerators, CarADAS, i-Car, OpusIVS and Transportation Research Center). On display is a lowered car that has been modified.
Demonstrations are taking place on a lifted truck to show what equipment is needed in an actual aftermarket collision and service environment.
Showgoers can also learn about the 5,000-sq.-ft. ADAS Technology Center, locating within the SEMA Garage in Detroit. With two sophisticated labs, the ADAS Technology Center is at the forefront of research and testing. Showgoers can learn about the center’s data-driven approach to dynamic testing, which has a precise level of accuracy to within millimeters and milliseconds. The SEMA Garage in Detroit opened in August 2022. While the facility is the second SEMA Garage, it is a first for SEMA in terms of ADAS testing.
“We are forging new ground with the ADAS Center at the SEMA Garage in Detroit,” said Ben Kaminsky, SEMA Garage Detroit general manager. “While SEMA is a leader in performance product emissions testing, we are just getting started with ADAS. The SEMA Garage in Detroit will offer access to static and dynamic testing for ADAS so that aftermarket parts manufacturers will be able to help troubleshoot and develop products for any make and model vehicle, regardless of the ADAS features on it.”

3ft Chasing LED Whip Light The MPS-CHWP-1 is designed for ATVs, UTVs, dune buggies, and other powersports applications. It is strong enough to withstand some of the most extreme off-roading environments with an IP67 rating. In addition, it is stylish yet durable, constructed with a weather-resistant polyolefin cover and a bendable polycarbonate core that is virtually unbreakable.
Chasing LED Underglow Lighting Kit The MPS-UNDG-KT1 includes (4) 9” and (2) 28” sealed polycarbonate LED tubes, mounting hardware, a Heise Connect Chasing Controller, RF card remote, and extension cables to make installation easy. The Chasing tube layout was designed to separate the left and right sides of the vehicle so that when a pattern is selected within the app, that lighting pattern will track down each side of the vehicle with the same timing. Additionally, the turn signals are zoned so that they have independent left and right triggers.
Heise Connect Chasing Controller This controller provides 12volt triggers for the option to turn lights red when the vehicle is braking and amber for turn signal indication.
