MECP Launches Apple and Android Apps

Nashville, TN – April 8th, 2024 – The Mobile Electronics Certified Professional Program (MECP) has launched a new App to purchase new courses, view courses and exams already purchased and progress through them for certification right from their mobile device. While the courses and purchase process has always been possible through these devices, a native app provides a better experience with viewing the content and the user experience than using a mobile browser in most cases. The Apps are available now in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

The Apps offer all of the same tools and content that the website courses have, but add new tools like study reminders, a stats page to view your real-time progress in your courses, and a resources page to jump quickly to your MECP Profile, the Career Finder, and the Verification pages on the site. Any courses you have already purchased and have access to in your online account are already in your App once you have signed in, and you can pick up your mobile device after working on the computer and pick up right where you left off.


“We’ve had a lot of requests for creating an App to be able to use on phones and tablet, and since our primary objective with the program is to make education and certification easier to access and easier to accomplish, it made sense for us to deliver this.” said Kris Bulla, MECP president. “One barrier we had to figure out was overcoming the inflated costs charged by Apple and Android to sell through the app stores. We were creatively unique creative in how built the apps, to allow you to view any courses you have purchased on our site for our normal price, without having to purchase them in-App at the higher prices required on their platforms. You can purchase courses on our site, and they will be available on your app immediately, and you can get to that page on our site via a button on the Stats page in the app. It is the best solution we could provide while complying with their rules and imitations of in-App purchases.”

IASCA Is Gearing For A Very Busy 2024

EAST WENATCHEE WA (04.05.24) – IASCA Worldwide hosted Advanced Judges seminars and Judges trainings, along with SQ events in Oklahoma and Texas, the first weekends in March. “Our focus was Sound Quality and providing our judges with the training to score competitors equally across the board” IASCA President Travis Chin stated.

A Judges training session was held at the Italia HiFi HQ in Dallas the weekend of March 8th. A 2X EQ event was held the following day with judges, potential judges and enthusiasts traveling great distances for the trainings and competition.

In vehicle SQ listening auditions took place at the Italia Hi/Fi HQ.

The following weekend, March 15th, IASCA Worldwide hosted an Advanced SQ Judges Training Seminar at Mobile Soundstage Engineering in Bixby, OK, followed by a 3X SQ event the following day. Mark Eldridge related “It’s all about the music and setting the stage for sound quality is our mission. It was terrific to see Travis again and host another IASCA Judges training event and SQ event. Everyone in the sessions was totally engaged and excited about the upcoming season.”

“Turnout at both events were great. Ensuring the high standards of sound quality judging is uppermost for IASCA. We strive to continue to offer the same level of judging and competition we have offered for the last 35 years so competitors get the value they deserve” Chin concluded.

MECP Launches Two New Specialist Courses and Exams

Nashville, TN – April 5, 2024 – The Mobile Electronics Certified Professional Program (MECP) has launched two new Specialist courses and exams to provide education and certification for technicians highly focused on specific industry tasks or roles. The two new courses are on the MECP Learning Portal Courses page. In addition, new two-year certificate length options are now available for most certifications.

The MECP Light Duty Fleet Services Specialist is tailored for technicians who install, maintain, troubleshoot, or service standard fleet vehicles. The MECP Autosound Specialist is honed in on the audio upgrade and integration technicians. Both offer these techs the ability to increase their knowledge and grow their expertise in these areas without getting frustrated with other education areas they do not need for their job path or role. Each of these certifications will be supplemented with a higher-level certification version focusing on more advanced applications, like heavy-duty vehicles like tractor-trailers, buses, and farm equipment for the fleet side in the future.

“These new courses complement our long-standing Product Technology Specialist certification for sales specialists and our recent Security & Convenience specialist certifications, aligning what we offer with the expertise that retailers and technicians need to both benefit from and promote to their customers,” said Kris Bulla, MECP president.

KICKER® Gets AMP’D UP in Missouri with Creative Audio at The Man Show Expo

Alpine to Return to 2024 Daytona Jeep Beach

A premium Dash Camera DVR-C320R with built-in drive assist and impact recording will also be installed to showcase the head unit pairing capabilities of the i509-WRA-JL. An Alpine PSS-24WRA sound system, with front 6.5” component speakers, 6.5” rear custom soundbar replacement speakers, 8” compact powered subwoofer, and 4-channel amplifier will be featured for in-vehicle sound upgrade demonstrations as well as an Alpine Weather-Resistant PSS-SX01 Sound System mounted to the roll bars to demonstrate exterior sound upgrade opportunities.

Alpine’s 2015 Jeep® Wrangler will also be on-site with similar Jeep®-specific solutions designed for older Jeep® Wranglers, including the i509-WRA-JK, DVR-C320R, PSS-22WRA Weather-Resistant Sound System, PSS-SX01, and HCE-TCAM1-WRA Spare Tire Rear-View Camera and Light System.
