Just after the gates opened Saturday morning attendees began to arrive.
“The trip began in Havasu AZ and included a stop at KICKER’s HQ in Stillwater where we loaded the trailer for the American Flat Track Race. On arriving in Springfield that was nearly 1700 miles” Morrell related.
The KICKER booth was ready to go late Friday afternoon.
When the gates opened Saturday morning all was set for the Labor Day Doubleheader. The weather was sunny for the weekend but a bit on the warm side. This was the 3rd year for Morrell to represent KICKER at the event.
Early Friday morning it was time to start set up and shine up the RZR.
“We were set up on the backside of the Springfield Fairgrounds main building and all attending the event passed the KICKER booth area when they entered . For the most part the RZR was Livin’Loud at 75% volume. From time to time we took it to over 90% during a demo. Attendees were almost all bikers and we could show the KICKER KMC4 in the RZR. KICKER replacement speakers were also products that caught bikers attention” Morrell offered.
The Saturday crowd this year was up from 2022 and all were excited to watch the racing. Unlike the past couple of years the weather was sunny throughout the event.
Time for Jared Mees to pick up his winners trophy Saturday.?
The drive Sunday morning included passing the Arch in St Louis.
“The Labor Day Weekend Doubleheader definitely provided a lot of branding for KICKER and attendees were excited to be onsite. Being in the booth I didn’t see any racing but could hear the racers on the straightaway. A lot of lanyards were handed out and some T’s too. During each awards ceremony the MC gave shout-outs to KICKER as an event sponsor also” Morrell concluded.
The RAM loaded and ready to head out from KICKER HQ on Thursday for Springfield, IL.
From Springfield the next stop is Stillwater to reload the RAM and trailer for the Sand Sports Super Show in Costa Mesa September 15-17. Morrell will spend a few days recharging back home in Lake Havasu AZ before heading north to Costa Mesa CA.

Patrick Brooks, NavAtlas National Sales Manager stated, “Vickers AV has a strong reputation in their marketplace and it’s super to welcome them in the NavAtlas family. We have a broad lineup of products and the Soundbar category is really hot. We have 3 models in the lineup starting with a 14” unit. This unit is versatile and can mount anywhere. It is a perfect option for the Can AM Defender with windshield wipers. Riders can mount two NS14As to the front cage making it the only Soundbar you can do that with. It’s also being used to replace cage pods and the NA14 blows them away for sound.”

PIGEON FORGE, TN (09.01.23) – Alpine had a major presence at the LaConte Center in Pigeon Forge Thursday-Saturday August 24th thru the 26th. Alpine returned to the event for the first time since 2019 with a larger booth footprint, Alpine Event Trailer, tents and installation booths.
DOW Technologies, Alpine area distributor, and key retailer Soundwaves of Tampa were on site with staff members and inventory to handle sales and onsite installations for the tens of thousands of Jeep enthusiasts who attended the mega event.
The large Alpine booth footprint was busy throughput the event.
DOW’s Mike Hurwitz works to unload Alpine inventory after arriving from Tampa.
Jay Johnson, DOW Director of Marketing related “Alpine has a great presence at the 11th Annual Great Smokey Mountain Jeep Club Invasion. The event had incredible attendance of enthusiastic Jeepers. Mike Hurwitz, Strategic Sales Manager-12volt, and Dave Elkin-Senior Vice President from DOW supported Alpine with inventory management for sales and installations. Peter Ruiz and his team from Soundwaves Auto Sound and Security from Tampa did a terrific job onsite handling sales and installations.”
The Alpine Restyle System was featured and a big seller.
The install bays under the Alpine tents were packed throughout the event.
Additional Alpine staff members on site included Roy Meyer, Eastern Regional, Eric Brooks who rolled in with the Alpine Event Trailer, Chris Reavis with a loaded Alpine Jeep along with Colin Vargo, also with an Alpine Jeep.
Elkin stated “Mike and I rolled out of Tampa for Pigeon Forge in a large truck loaded with Alpine products and supplies for the 700 mile drive up to Pigeon Forge. Considering all of the steps of exhibiting at a large event all went very smoothly. The Alpine, Soundwaves and DOW team members communicated very well. The Soundwaves team worked from sun up till after dark to compete sales and installations. Several Alpine tents were laid out as installation bays and stayed packed throughout the event. When the event wrapped it was High 5’s across the board.”
When the event wrapped teams gathered for a photo op in front of the wall of empty Alpine Restyle system boxes.
The Alpine Jeep blasted through the wall of empty Alpine Restyle system boxes to wrap the 2023 Smokey Mountain Jeep Invasion Alpine Experience.
Peter Ruiz led his Soundwaves Team of 10 to Pigeon Forge. The Team was comprised of 2 on the sales side and 8 installation tech. Ruiz offered “We drove up in 2 vehicles to Pigeon Forge in a Suburban and Excursion with one pulling a 5’x8’ trainer filled with tools, installation kits and supplies. We all stayed very busy throughout the time at the event. After the event wrapped we totaled 75 installations. Forty-four of those installations were Alpine Restyle systems. We definitely exceeded our goal. In fact we had another truck make a speed trip up after the first day’s sales were so strong.”
A video of the Jeep going through the wall of boxes.
Concluding Ruiz stated “We saved all the large Restyle system empty boxes and stacked them as a wall for team photo ops. After the photo ops when the event wrapped we had a Jeep drive right through the wall of Restyle boxes. That was plenty to fill a bunch of dumpsters!”
A return trip for the 12th Annual Great Smokey Mountain Jeep Club Invasion is definitely on the 2024 horizon.
