PITTSBURGH, PA (01.23.24) – Team Nutz, a very proactive 12volt retailer in the Pittsburg area, had a very strong showing at the recent MAX Motive World of Wheels this year at the David Lawerence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh Friday thru Sunday, January 19-21. Freezing temperatures, snow and weather advisories had little impact on attendance.
The aisles were packed around the Team Nutz booth.
The Team Nutz 70’ x 80’ booth was filled with demo vehicles, tents, show car displays, live installations and importantly consumers. End Result, with Ed Dalesandro and Rusty North, was onsite with the Team Nutz staff of 12 who worked the show. The End Result rep firm brands Hertz, Audison and Memphis Audio were installed in several demo vehicles and experienced by thousands of attendees.
In progress installations were completed on the show floor.
Enthusiasts saw a wide variety of demo vehicles.
Ed Nuttall, for Team Nutz, stated, “The attendance was reported to approach 20,000 and members of the crowd were really interested automotive enthusiasts. We had literally over 10,000 customized swag items including pens, stickers, tote bags, screw drivers and lanyards to hand out to attendees. We gave out over 1500 tote bags.
The visibility for Team Nutz at the event will lead to very active days at the store following the World of Wheels event.
Mike Gosnick made a variety of videos on the floor to get traffic to the Team Nutz booth. This screenshot highlighted a cool about Team Nutz bottle for just a buck… 200 sold in the booth.
In these fun images as the show open Saturday, Ed and Nina Nuttall are pictured on the left and Ed Dalesandro-who set this stage, is on the right.
“Many registered for contests we offered and checked out info from QR Code we spotted around at the event. Mike Gosnik posted a number of videos to draw attention to products in the booth and posts of those videos will continue visibility for us and store traffic following the event for weeks” Nuttall offered.
Continuing, Nuttall relayed “Friday was scheduled as high school day as in past years. We had expected to see maybe 1000 high school students. Very unfortunately the bad weather forced most schools to cancel that activity of bussing students to the event.”
The Saturday evening event, hosted by Team Nutz, was attended by exhibitors at restaurant across the street.
Following the show Saturday night Team Nutz hosted a dinner for exhibitors and crews at a restaurant across the street for over 100 who contributed to the success of the show.
“All at Team Nutz and partners certainly put a lot into pulling off this event. We worked over 3 days to set up and tear down took 1.5 hours this year…compared to 3 hours last year. We put our company and products in front a very large number of people. Literally thousands went home with some swag with our name on it too. All in all I think the show was a success. We look forward to more big events at the David Lawrence Convention Center,” Nuttall concluded.

STILLWATER, OK (01.19.24) – KICKER Vice President of Research and Development Bob Spencer announced his retirement recently, following 41 years of employment for Stillwater Designs and Audio, Inc. As one of KICKER’s original employees, Spencer remarked he is now looking forward to spending time with his family and pursuing personal interests.
“Bob is an intuitive and talented manager who leads from his own wealth of hands-on experience and knowledge,” said KICKER founder and President Steve Irby. “He has been a key in nurturing and maintaining our major vendor relationships through R&D for decades.”
The company veteran was among the first KICKER employees ever, soon after the brand originated in the early 1980s.
“I was a musician and knew Steve through the local music scene,” recalled Spencer.
His friendship with the KICKER founder evolved into a working relationship in 1982, with Spencer building the original KICKER enclosures by hand. These same full-range boxes would prove to be the beginning of the car-audio enclosure market. Over the next half decade, the company expanded to 80 employees and more than a dozen SKUs. Spencer oversaw the staff, managed production, and created the sales forecasts.
Bob Spencer and Steve Irby (L) pictured during Bob’s retirement get together at KICKER HQ in Stillwater OK.
In the late 80s, cabinet assembly evolved into raw speaker and amplifier production. As KICKER’s product line grew, so did Spencer’s responsibilities as he was promoted from Project Manager to Director of Research and Development. During his tenure, KICKER has become one of the most well-known car-audio manufacturers in the world.
“He loved working with people that are passionate about music,” Irby reflected. “He plays many different instruments, so being a musician myself, we connected on that level. Bob loved putting a band together with the best players, which was his approach to building our R&D department.”
Going forward, Spencer’s responsibilities will be split between KICKER veterans Chanc Bergbower (nearly 25 years at KICKER) and Joe Hobart (17 years). Bergbower assumes the role of Director of R&D/Acoustics, while Hobart has been promoted to Product Line Manager – Electronics.
