Zorg North America Releases Plug and Play Automatic Trailer Camera Systems That Display on OEM Screen

RALEIGH, NC (03.23.2021) – Zorg North America has introduced a complete line of easy-to-install, plug-and-play trailer camera systems that automatically change the camera view from the tailgate to the rear of the trailer when towing.

Chris Luft pictured with a Zorg North America Trailer Connect Kit ready to make the installation.

“The Zorg North America team has designed custom kits for most Pickup trucks from 2015-2021 model years. The kits include a T-Harness that connects to the OEM tailgate camera harness under the truck, an IP69 rated waterproof switcher, a trailer connect kit with all parts required for both the trailer and the tow vehicle. The trailer side comes with either a white or black IR assisted, color, heavy-duty camera, 10-meter extension cable, and trailer side connector and bracket. The system provides all camera power, so no other connection on the trailer is required,” Cris Luft, Zorg NA GM stated.

After installation, the camera will automatically show on the OEM radio monitor anytime the trailer is connected, and the vehicle is placed in reverse gear. The installation does not require any cutting or modifications to the vehicle wiring.  Zorg will be releasing a similar system with a toggle switch for applications where customers have special application needs.

Zorg is now shipping kits for Ford (F-150, Superduty, and Ranger), GM, GMC, Ram, and Toyota Tacoma.

Note the system is not compatible with vehicles that have an OEM 360 view or LVDS type camera.

“We Like It Loud” at ECB Educational K8 Center

WEST PARK, FL (03.22.2021) – Thieves broke into the ECB Educational K8 Center in Broward County on March 17th and made off with flatscreen TVs, electronics and more that the children used daily. Principal Eboni Burts and the students were devastated. The school is a faith-based Christian school and many of the items stolen were used by the students in the class setting each school.

Principal Eboni Burts is excited to receive the big stack of items from Rob Ferro.

Rob Ferro, MR DS18, saw the news story on Local 10 News. “As soon as I saw the segment on the news I wanted to see how at DS18 we could help. I got in touch with Principal Burts and she gave me all the details about the burglary. I knew we had products like the Zumba Loud and other products and things that would help the school. We got together at the office and made plans to make a delivery to the school and relayed that to Principal Burts” Ferro stated.

Rob Ferro being interviewed by the Local 10 News crew with Janine Stanwood.

The school is not far from the DS18 HQ in Miami Gardens, FL.

“When we arrived with a pickup full of items for the school, that included speakers, games and toys, I was surprised to see the crew from Local 10 News at the school. Principal Burts told the station we were delivering items for the school and they wanted to report that on the news” Ferro continued.

Rob Ferro setting up a Zumba Loud speaker, in the class area, that features a smartphone Bluetooth media source and LED lighting that pulses to the music signal.

Once Ferro arrived Principal Burts came out with the students as Ferro unloaded the DS18 Pickup. Janine Stanwood, reporter with Local 10 News crew, filmed everything. The items were then taken into the classroom area where Ferro setup the Zumba loud speakers and showed all how to operate the speakers that include LED lighting.

Principal Eboni Burts happily shows one of the toys to some of the students.

Concluding Ferro offered “It was so great to see the big smiles on everyones the face. Providing these gifts to the school was also very rewarding for all at DS18. The segment aired a couple times on Local 10 News which was very heartwarming to see. The visibility for DS18 of this good samaritan effort was a real bonus for DS18.”

SEMA Show Organizers Announce Plans for New West Hall

DIAMOND BAR, CA (03.19.2021) – SEMA is on track to deliver an exciting in-person SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) November 2-5, 2021. With exhibits included in the LVCC’s newly constructed West Hall, the entire SEMA Show floorplan will be optimized and offers room for new features and enhancements for an improved overall attendee experience.

“The industry is eager to reconnect,” said Chris Kersting, SEMA president and CEO. “The return to an in-person SEMA Show gives resellers a chance to engage with an amazing gathering of suppliers, new products, stunning vehicle builds and networking opportunities. We are excited to provide our industry with a world-class marketplace that will help them grow and expand their businesses.”

This year’s Show will include exhibit space in the Las Vegas Convention Center’s newly constructed West Hall, a 1.4-million square feet facility completed in January during the COVID-19 shutdown. The new facility will house exhibitors from the Restyling & Car Care Accessories, Powersports & Utility Vehicles, and Truck, SUV & Off-Road sections. The realignment is one element of a comprehensive plan to enhance the entire attendee experience, connecting exhibitors with buyers throughout the four-day event with engaging and interactive features and activities. Details on additional resources, including a new online component that focuses on manufacturers, new products, feature vehicles, and educational resources, will be announced as they are finalized in the coming weeks.

With eight months to go until the event, nearly 1,000 exhibitors have already confirmed their participation in the 2021 SEMA Show. Buyers will begin to secure credentials as registration opens in May. SEMA also continues to work closely with the convention center authorities and the state of Nevada, where large-scale events are opening up.

“Demand from the industry to connect in a trade show environment is very strong,” said Tom Gattuso, SEMA vice president of events. “Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Convention Center are on a great path to hosting live events, and we are steadfast in connecting it all to deliver the best SEMA Show ever.”

Tint World Ranks No. 194 on Inc. Magazine’s List of Florida’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies

BOCA RATON, FL (03.18.2021) – Tint World Automotive Styling Centers was recognized as one of the fastest-growing private companies in Florida by Inc. Magazine. The company ranked No. 194 on the publication’s second annual Inc. 5000 Regionals: Florida list.

Charles J. Bonfiglio, CEO and President of Tint World

“Our placement on this list is a representation of how hard our corporate team and our franchisees have worked together over the past two years,” said Charles J. Bonfiglio, CEO and President of Tint World. “Despite dealing with a tough business environment in 2020, our company was able to grow while expanding services. Looking forward, we plan on continuing that growth by expanding our franchise and opening new locations as the demand for our services increase.”

Click above to view the full list

Born of the annual Inc. 5000 franchise, the regional list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the Florida economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses.

The companies on the list show stunning rates of growth across all industries in Florida. Between 2017 and 2019, these 250 private companies had an average growth rate of 202%, and in 2019 alone, they employed more than 83,000 people and added nearly $11 billion to the Florida economy.

“Tint World grew by over 20% in 2020 with multiple franchise locations. We can contribute much of this growth to the measures we took during 2020,” said Bonfiglio. “We were deemed an essential business in 2020, so it was important for us to figure out what we needed to do to operate within the industry. We also focused on increased social media marketing and ppc advertising campaigns, letting our customers know our locations were essential businesses and remaining open. It was also important to offer them peace of mind knowing that we were adhering to the latest CDC guidelines and city mandates. We believe using a positive mindset and the knowledge we’ve gained in 2020, we’ll be able to double our growth in 2021.”

Tint World Automotive Styling Centers offer sales and installation of auto accessories, mobile electronics, audio video equipment, security systems, custom wheels and tire packages, window tinting, vehicle wraps, paint protection films, detailing services, nano ceramic coatings, maintenance and repair services, and more.

Younger Generation of Classic Car Enthusiasts, New Technology Pave Road for New Business Opportunities

DIAMOND CAR, CA (03.17.2021) – With more than 9.4 million pre-1990 vehicles estimated on the road today, more consumers and businesses report that they are modifying classic cars with modern parts and technology. While a significant number of consumers and businesses continue to restore classic cars to their original factory specifications, a growing number are customizing the vehicles to include upgraded engines with enhanced performance, increased efficiency, and modern-day comforts (a practice often referred to as “restomodding”).

The “Classic Cars, Modern Markets” report from SEMA Market Research reveals new data on market sizing, purchasing habits, and vehicle usage of classic car vehicle owners and explores how modern consumers feel about, work on, and engage with their fellow enthusiasts about classic vehicles.

“Classic cars and trucks have been a key part of the specialty automotive aftermarket since it began, and for many people who own older vehicles, fixing them up or modifying them into something new is a passion project that can span decades,” said SEMA Director of Market Research Gavin Knapp. “This report will help businesses understand this unique customer base, how to reach them, and where the current and future opportunities are for the vintage and automotive restoration aftermarket.”

The report, which researched classic car owners and businesses, found:

  • A growing number of businesses (62%) see restomodding on the rise and, on average, say that half the work they do on classics is part of a restomod job
  • Younger classic car owners are more likely to seek a restomod build, with 38% of owners under 45 going for a restomod, compared to 22% of older owners
  • Owners tend to view a classic as a long-term investment, with 44% saying they want to keep the vehicle forever
  • While 50% of owners use their classic vehicles for running errands, classic vehicles are much less likely to be used as commuter vehicles with 15% of classic car owners doing so (compared to 64% of the general population)
  • 80% percent of classic owners are comfortable doing at least some of the work on their vehicle on their own
  • Unrestored ‘60s muscle cars and pony cars remain popular barn finds among collectors, but the emerging market for ‘70s and ‘80s vehicles represent an important opportunity
  • Despite loving old-school cars, classic owners are not shy about going online to learn and shop for parts – especially younger owners

Hi-Pro Audio Received the NavAtlas Prize from the 12volt Spin-To-Win Wheel 116

VICTORIA, TX (03.16.2021) – Justin Hosek, Hi-Pro Audio, received the NavAtlas handheld prize last week and already has hit the trail for a check ride.

“I gave one of the pair to my buddy and had the other one in my RZR. Out on the trail in rugged south Texas the handhelds worked great and definitely added a level of safety” Hosek related to 12volt News.

Justin Hosek holds his NavAtlas 12volt Spin-To-Win Wheel prize after a check ride in his RZR.

The 12volt Spin-To-Win Wheel 116 rolled on Friday, February 26th. The Wheel landed on the NavAtlas space and Hi-ProAudio’s lucky slip was drawn from the jar in the 12volt Central Studios. A quick email to Patrick Brooks, NavAtlas National Sales Manager, got the handhelds prize ball rolling to Justin at Hi-Pro Audio.

Patrick Brooks, NavAtlas National Sales Manager, pictured in the Brea CA HQ with the NHR1 prize ready to ship Hi-Pro Audio.

Brooks stated “Every retailer should have the NR1 Dual-band VHF/UHF Radios at the cash register to start a conversation and complete an impulse purchase. Back stock of 6 units makes sense since the NavAtlas handheld could be best $109. a customer could spend for a device that could be life saving. One never knows when they might loose cell service and out on a trail cell service can be spotty. With a range of 8 miles the NHR1could get a rider out of some tight spots.”

Brooks continued “The NavAtlas NHR1 is also a great tool for retail storesl to communicate between departments and the install bay.”

Jack Bogard, Sanford Sound in Sanford ME, won NavAtlas handhelds on the 12volt Spin-To-Win Wheel 113. “After receiving my NHR1’s we checked them out and they worked great. We are selling more side-by-sides and some of our customers already wanted to make a purchase so we placed an order. Using the handheld also works great to talk to techs in the bay.”

The 12volt Spin-To-Win Wheel was started to add some fun across the 12volt industry. The second anniversary was celebrated just over 4 months ago. Great to see companies, like NavAtlas, receiving exposure for their brands, dealers like Justin and Jack being happy 12volt Spin-To-Win prize winners and NavAtlas handhelds dealers.

The Pro Audio Center slip was drawn from the jar and an Instagram post of the winning slip was posted. A video of the Wheel spin was also posted. We reached out to Vicky Hamm and she was pleased to hear the news.

Spinning out a winner each Friday, the lucky 12volt retailer can win a cool prize and top brands receive visibility across the marketplace.

12volt brands with a space on the 12volt Spin-To-Win Wheel include Kicker, NavAtlas, SiriusXM, Accele, PowerBass, CRUX, DS18, SoundStream, AIS, JBL, Design Engineering, Power Acoustik, JVC and ZZ-2. 12volt News $100. cash awards have spaces on the 12volt Spin-To-Wheel for a winning 12volt retailer.

The KICKER AMA ArenaCross Season Wrapped With Championships In Amarillo

AMARILLO, TX (03.11.2021) – Rounds 9 and 10 on Friday and Saturday, March 5th and 6th respectively, wrapped the KICKER AMA ArenaCross schedule for 2021. The track at the Amarillo National Center was set for the riders.

Massive screens above the track at the Amarillo National Center displayed a KICKER product ad.

KICKER was represented on site by maddog_media and Lorin Morrell. “Both nights people in the stands were enthusiastic as the riders made their way around the track. The Texas Governor announced that Friday the statewide Mask Mandate would end the following week. The COVID-19 Pandemic certainly is limiting on site events but the Amarillo National Center took social media precautions throughout the event. KICKER was definitely Livin’Loud” Morrell related.

KICKER Athletes @jeraldlarue56 and @jttiffany are #livinloud Jammin’ to linked BF400 & BF200 Bullfrogs.

A KICKER wide selection of KICKER products were set up under a tent in the lobby area. Attendees checked out the Lifestyle, Marine and Audio products with the Kicker BullFrog grabbing a lot of attention.

The Kicker RZR was Livin’Loud with on the track demos.

Kevin Campbell, speaking for KICKER, commented “We have enjoyed more than ten years of partnership with Tod Hammock and Cycle City Promotions, the producers of KICKER ArenaCross, and with each year we’ve faced and overcome challenges along the way. However, nothing like this year of postponements and rescheduling due to the Pandemic. Tod and his crew did a fantastic job, and despite the adversity, they managed to make the season a rousing success. I look forward to working with Tod on next season as well as some awesome upcoming Enduro-X events.”

Riders took practice laps during midday Friday, March 5th.
