Metra Electronics Ships New iBEAM Replacement Camera for Jeep Gladiator

HOLLY HILL, FL (05.27.2021) – iBEAM Vehicle Safety Systems by Metra Electronics has just released a new replacement camera designed for 2020-up* Jeep Gladiator JT models. When replacing the radio on these vehicles, the factory LVDS backup camera presents a challenge for aftermarket screens and can be expensive to retain using an interface. iBEAM’s JP-JTKT camera replaces the factory camera to provide an affordable solution that allows the driver to see their backup video on a compatible aftermarket screen when in reverse. This new solution adds to Metra’s growing product line of aftermarket Jeep accessories.

The JP-JTKT has an RCA output for aftermarket radios or monitors with selectable parking lines and a 160-degree viewing angle. Two different types of camera mounting brackets are available to cover models equipped with either a standard backup camera or models equipped with surround or 360 systems. (Surround or 360 systems are not retained with this kit.)

The JP-JTKT is available now and will be included in Metra’s Jeep accessories and iBEAM training sessions at KnowledgeFest in Orlando.

The stop the duo made at Rhodes Off-Road in Farmington, MO was particularly impressive. Rhodes Off-Road held the Grand Opening of their new location on April 24th of this year. MECA Team Nutz Spring Jam Rocked in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA (05.25.2021) – Team Nutz rolled out the red carpet for competitors at the MECA Team Nutz Spring Jam at the company’s retail store in Pittsburg on Sunday, May 23rd.The MECA event featured SQL, SPL plus Show & Shine formats for competitors. MECA Event Directors Andy Magill and Kevin Mayo kept all moving in the competition lanes.

Setup was underway in the Team Nutz parking lot early Sunday morning.

Ed Nuttall, Team Nutz owner, stated, “The event ran very smoothly and it was a great atmosphere as people who enjoy premium sound in their rides had an opportunity to compete. We drew competitors from Ohio and presented custom trophies to top competitors.”

Andy Magill related, “The Team Nutz crew really put together a well organized event. Judging the SQL competitors in the large installation bay was an ideal setting.”

SQL Competitor Dan Arndt made the 120 mile trip from Erie, PA for the event. “The setting was great for my new KIA to compete in the lane. Also, I am studying to become a SQL Judge so that added to my super experience at the Team Nutz MECA event.”

Continuing, Nuttall commented, “We had tents set up in the parking lot for the SPL and Show & Shine judging. My young niece and nephew handed out way over 100 bottles of water to folks as well as Team Nutz stickers, bags and lanyards.”

Rusty North, a factory rep with End Result, also attended the event. North offered, “This MECA event was terrific. Seeing a top area retailer like Team Nutz working to host a MECA sound off event will create excitement and stimulate more participation from enthusiasts in the area.”

dB Drag Competition Series on the West Coast Plus a Special Lunsford Customs FundRaiser

AUSTIN ,TX (05.24.2021) – dB Drag Racing competitors on the West Coast will have several options to attend events this season with the addition of 2 competition series that adds 8 events to the calendar.

J’s Alarms and Car Audio in Fresno, CA will be hosting 4 “Friday Night” events this summer that kicked off on May 7th with additional events on June 4, July 2 and August 6. The shop will also have a VIP SALE that takes place in conjunction with their event series.

Jose Sanchez related, “Our event on Friday night May 7th at J’s got the series rolling in a big way. Competitors were excited to be out and we had some big numbers on the meter. For the next 3 events we plan a “Death Match” that will pit 4 competitors for the top dB in a 5 minute run. We will award the winner $1. for each dB his ride pulls at the end of the 5 minutes.”

Baldini’s Casino will be the host for a series of 4 “Saturday Afternoon” events that kick off on May 29, June 26, July 24 and August 28. The Casino boasts 500 hot slots and video poker games, an independent local Sports Book and the best gaming promotions.

A special Sound Off FundRaiser was held on Saturday, May 22nd to benefit Lunsford Customs and Marvin Moreece Benson in Sacramento CA. In late April there was a break in at the store and a Jeep, plus equipment, was stolen. There was damage to the store also as the thieves entered.

Anthony Lunsford related, “The turnout at our store for the fundraiser was very special. Doug Stockton did a great job bringing the dB Drag Racing, IASCA and MECA formats together for competitors. Our sponsor friends also helped so much for the Fundraiser. The lanes were full and some big numbers on the meter. At the end of the day it was a terrific way to end the week and get ready for next week.”

“Looks like we raised a little over $1,500 for the shop. This all came together pretty quickly and it was great to see area teams come together for this event to support Lunsford Customs,” Stockton related to the 12volt Central Studios.

Alpine Hosts In-Store DSP Training at Car Stereo One in Toledo

TOLEDO, OH (05.20.2021) – The new Alpine PXE-0850X Digital Sound Processor is beginning to arrive in the 12volt retail marketplace. On Tuesday evening May 18th Alpine staff members Dan Sparks and Chris Reavis, along with area factory representative Steve McGaffee, hosted an Alpine DSP training for entire Car Stereo One team.

Dan Sparks, who conducted the actual presentation, stated, “This was such a terrific training. It was one of the very first in-person trainings with retailer we have done in forever. Steve McGaffee has the PXE-850X installed in his Toyota Camry and rolled it into the installation bay where the actual training took place.”

Steve Braun, Car Stereo One President related, “The new Alpine DSP delivers a new level in-vehicle sound experience. Dan covered the ins-and-outs of the unit very well. Our 4 sales staff and 4 techs were amazed when each took a seat in the car. In fact, two want to buy a PXE-0850X and install it in their personal car.”

Chris Reavis offered, “I think back to my favorite live concert… Fleetwood Mac. When listening to a system with an Alpine DSP it’s like hearing Stevie Nicks LIVE on stage at that Fleetwood Mac concert.”

“When I make a dealer sales call its top on the list for all members of the store staff to come out and listen to the PXE-850X in my Camry. The DSP module is in the console and the control unit mounted on the dash. An Alpine sub enclosure is in the trunk with the Alpine Amplifier,” Steve McGaffee offered.

Concluding, Braun added, “Business has been very strong. The last customers in the store on Tuesday were so impressed with our Alpine Wall of Bass they stayed until a little before 7. Then we enjoyed pizza and started the training. When we listened to the system in Steve’s car everyone got an idea how to demo a concert in a car. Plus, with many older cars, the Bluetooth module brings every more possibilities to improve a customer’s in-vehicle experience. C.A.R. Soundz Hosted MECA 2X SPL Smackdown

BAKERSFIELD, CA (05.19.2021) – The MECA event season is ramping up in California as COVID-19 restrictions ease. Saturday, May 15th, over 80 Sound-off enthusiasts were on site at C.A.R. Soundz in Bakersfield. MECA’s California Director Richard Papasin was on site behind the meter. A Friday night C.A.R. Soundz and Soundstream BassNight preceded the Saturday event.

Team Soundsream had 18 members on site at the event. Solomon Bustamonte, Team Soundstream Team Captain, stated, “I have been running Soundstream gear my rides for over 15 years and the equipment rocks. We have 26 members on Team Soundstream and we compete in shows from Fresno to San Diego.”

OXNARD, CA (05.18.2021) – SCOSCHE Industries has announced their support of Michele Abbate in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race on May 22, 2021 in Austin, Texas.

Michele, an inspiring and hard-working Scosche ambassador since 2016, and dedicated professional race car driver at GRR Racing in Las Vegas, Nev., will be realizing her dream of driving NASCAR. She will make her NASCAR debut driving the Scosche #30 On Point Motorsports Toyota Tundra truck.
