KICKER Marine Audio Was Livin’Loud and ‘Went Overboard’ at The Lake Havasu Formula 1 Race

LAKE HAVASU, AZ (10.21.2021) – KICKER Marine Audio again joined its local dealers and fans in Lake Havasu City, AZ, for the NGK Spark Plugs Formula 1 Powerboat Series that ran October 15-17. The event featured high-horsepower racing excitement in 3 classes over 2 days with international powerboat racing stars.

Formula 1 boats race on Lake Havasu as press and crowd members watch the action.

The Friday Night Beach Party from at the London Bridge Beach was sponsored by KICKER Marine Audio. Fans got to mingle with the drivers and crews to learn more about them and their racing equipment. Amid great music–broadcast through the KICKER Marine Audio system–a vintage boat display, kids’ activity zone, museum exhibits, food, Beer Garden, vendors, and a Reunion Social for past racers, families and racers crew members all enjoyed the festivities. This special event will be free and open to the public.

The lake views at night are spectacular.

Lorin Morrell, Maddog_Media, was on site and coordinated the event with Dan Murphy whose Murfco is the long time KICKER rep firm in the area and Boom Toon partner. “No doubt about it. KICKER Marine definitely ‘Went Overboard and was Livin’Loud during the weekend…all the while making a huge impression with the local boating community. I was on site all 3 days and the KICKER Marine presence was everywhere,” Morrell related.

KICKER Marine Audio, and its local dealers (Wired 4 Sound and Ron’s In Your Ear Audio), and vendors have long been active in Lake Havasu through the performance boating Annual Desert Storm Poker Run and rally. This NGK Spark Plugs Formula 1 Powerboat event gave KICKER Marine Audio and music fans the opportunity to mix high-speed racing with high-octane sound.

Lorin Morrell (R) grabbed this selfie with Cap ‘N Frank Zepeda… Boom Toon partner.

Dan Murphy teamed up with Lake Havasu’s custom installer Wired 4 Sound’s Jeff Cuvelier at the event. Murphy and partner Frank Zepeda’s “Boom Toon,” a “vintage” 30-foot Starlight 1986 riverboat that was transformed into a runabout double decker party barge, complete with a slide and party poles, was back at the docks. The Boom Toon joined Jeff’s Rinker Flotilla Deck boat. Both were decked with top-of-the-line KICKER Marine Audio speakers, subwoofers, amps and more. Both boats emphasized the KICKER’s tag line of “Livin’ Loud!”

Ron Voegele, of Gatorwraps, installer of large-scale vessel and vehicle wraps said of Cuvelier’s boat, “Whenever he pulls into a cove, everyone else shuts off their stereos because his sounds like a live concert! We hear those comments all the time when KICKER sound systems are LIVIN’Loud—the sound is that clear!”

The Murfco and KICKER RZR’s were set up to show all KICKER was Livin’ Loud on land in Lake Havasu City.

MurfCo and local dealers have had long-time KICKER audio affiliations, including friendships with KICKER founder Steve Irby, who is a pioneer in the 12volt mobile audio world spanning over 4 decades.

“KICKER Marine Audio has found kindred spirits in the performance boating community,” stated Jeremy Bale, brand manager, “This group of racers and fans may have been introduced to KICKER through this event and some may certainly know the company from its decades as a mobile audio leader, no doubt used in their tow vehicles. Lake Havasu has been a good location for us with long-time dealers, distributors and installers and we have enjoyed getting together and engaging with our customers and friends at these events–and to make new friends. We’re happy to support the Seebold family in this race!”

The KICKER Boom Toon was ready to show all KICKER was Going Overboard and Livin’Loud at the Lake Havasu Race weekend.

Concluding, Morrell stated, “There was also a large KICKER tent display area on land where the Murfco and KICKER RZR’s were set up and Livin’Loud for PowerSports enthusiasts. For 3 days around Lake Havasu KICKER definitely had presence as announcers on the PA systems were talking KICKER and members of the press were on the top deck of the Boom Toon filming the racers. What an amazing 3 Days. KICKER definitely “Went Overboard and was Livin’Loud!”

All KICKER Marine Audio’s can enclosures are tough, UV-treated and come in black and white to complement a boat’s color scheme, complete with LED light complements. Horn-Loaded Tower Systems, speakers, subwoofers, amps and media centers are only part of the line. So when boaters want to “Kick” up their sound system, they rely on the brand that delivers the finest quality acoustics and marine-grade components… they are Livin’Loud with KICKER Marine Audio.

Tint World Recognized as a Top 400 Brand by Franchise Times

BOCA RATON, FL (10.15.2021) – Tint World Automotive Styling Centers has been named to the prestigious Franchise Times Top 400 list, solidifying its claim as the No. 1 auto styling center in the world. With a ranking of 363, the company saw a sales growth of 20.9% and a unit growth of 16.4%.

“Making the Franchise Times Top 400 list showcases our dedication and commitment to our customers as well as our team’s willingness to go above and beyond,” said Charles J. Bonfiglio, president and CEO of Tint World. “Our footprint in the industry continues to grow internationally because of our determination to offer the best automotive styling experience in the world. That is one of the primary reasons we remain competitive and a leader in the automotive styling industry.”

Formerly known as the Top 200+, Franchise Times renamed its annual ranking of the 400 largest U.S.-based franchise systems by systemwide sales to better encompass the biggest brands in franchising. However, despite their list’s increase in growth, the rigorous approach to research remains the same, said Franchise Times Editor-in-Chief Laura Michaels.

The Franchise Times’ Top 400 project is the result of a five-month research and reporting effort that leads to the most credible and objective franchise ranking available. Their collection of systemwide sales data also provides useful insight into the franchise industry’s performance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“While many businesses struggled to keep their doors open throughout the pandemic, the Tint World team made the necessary adjustments and had the resources in place to power through and keep our stores open,” Bonfiglio said. “None of this would be possible without communication with leaders at every level, from our support staff at headquarters to the individual franchisees. We made sure everyone had the tools to continue thriving despite the pandemic, and this placement is an acknowledgment of that.”

Tint World Automotive Styling Centers offer sales and installation of auto accessories, mobile electronics, audio-video equipment, security systems, custom wheels and tire packages, window tinting, vehicle wraps, paint protection films, detailing services, nano ceramic coatings, maintenance and repair services, and more.

Retail Spending on Cars and Car Parts Surpasses All Other Sales

DIAMOND BAR, CA (10.12.2021) – Automotive is the single biggest retail segment in the U.S., accounting for 20% (more than $1.2 trillion) of retail spending in 2020, according to the new Retail Trends Report from SEMA Market Research.

The report highlights U.S. retail spending and includes new findings on the retail side of the specialty-equipment market, including specialty-automotive shopping behavior and trends.

Retail is a huge part of the U.S. economy, representing more than $6.2 trillion in 2020. While online sales are growing, it is a small slice of the total – growing to roughly 14% of total retail sales, up from 11% in 2019.

Automotive accounted for more than $1.2 trillion of retail spending in 2020, according to the new SEMA Retail Trends Report.

To help businesses understand automotive aftermarket retail trends by product and retail channel, as well as consumer and shopping behavior, the SEMA report contains additional findings, including:

  • The specialty-automotive aftermarket is ahead of the curve on online sales, with just over half of the $47.89 billion spent on specialty parts in 2020 going through online retail channels. SEMA expects that the share of online retail sales will level off, then return to its historical trend of gradual growth over the next couple years.
  • In the longer term, retailers should keep an eye on how the vehicle population evolves. Light trucks like pickups, SUVs, and CUVs are expected to represent 80% of new vehicles sold through 2028.
  • Alternative-fuel vehicles (e.g., hybrid and electric) are a small but growing share of new vehicles sold, expected to account for 25% of new vehicle sales by 2028 and 45% by 2035.
  • In recent years, specialty-automotive consumers have most-commonly bought parts in a “mixed-mode” fashion – i.e., buying both in-person and online, with smaller portions favoring exclusively in-person or exclusively online.
  • For many consumers, high-performance chemicals along with specialty wheels and tires represent the “gateway drugs” that can lead to more ambitious modifications to the vehicle’s appearance, performance, and handling.

For more data on the state of U.S retail and retail in the automotive specialty-equipment market, download the 2021 SEMA Retail Trends Report for free today at www.sema.org/research.

We don’t know what to expect from this year’s SEMA show given the nature of everything going on in
the world, but we’ve committed to being there in person to spend time with our awesome dealer base
who keeps this industry thriving,” said Nick LoMonaco president of Memphis Audio.

Memphis Audio will be offering live product demo from a custom one-of-a-kind Polaris RZR featuring the
latest and greatest OEM Direct Fit powersports kits. These kits are designed for a vehicle specific fit in
most major side-by-side models. “We wanted to give dealers an opportunity to hear how well these
custom tuned direct fit kits perform in a machine. The pods are custom tuned for a high-performance
audio experience and come with everything a dealer needs to add an impressive audio experience to
most models of side-by-sides without any custom fabrication required. The best part is that these kits
are in stock and available to ship which we know is great news for store owners. We also wired up a
secondary system which is sure to please the SEMA crowd with more speakers than we can count and
enough bass to keep the north shaking.” said LoMonaco.

Memphis will also be exhibiting a new Digital Sound Processor and conduct live training on how to
maximize the potential of your audio system using this new piece. In addition to demos, there will be
plenty of swag and giveaways so stop by booth 12455 and visit the most handsome crew the 12-volt
Industry has to offer!
