In a phone call with the 12volt Central Studios Mayor Clews made it clear that the job of Mayor would not take all his time. But when there were duties requiring his presence as Mayor the staff at 12volt Dave’s was well equipped to keep things cranked up.
He also confirmed he was the first male Mayor of Pottsville to have a ponytail. When asked about 24-hour cruise-ins the Mayor indicated he would have to get back with us.

Richard Papasin, MECA California… who headed up the event, offered, “The show was a success with good camaraderie between both the SQL and SPL competitors. With some still rebuilding for the new season, it was a good turnout nonetheless for an early season event with 49 total entries with competitors traveling from as far north as San Jose and Fresno down to Redlands and some from as far south as San Diego and from neighboring states such as Nevada as well.”

AMARILLO, TX (01.17.22) – The KICKER AMA Pro ArenaCross 6-City Series, with 10 races, rolled into the Amarillo National Center on Saturday, January 15th.
“It was cold and very windy outside but inside the action on the track was red hot as riders and attendees were Livin’ Loud. We had a display area in the lobby area and virtually everyone who entered the 10,000 seat Amarillo National Center had to pass by the KICKER setup. We had a selection of KICKER products for all to see. We were talking to members of the crowd about KICKER throughout the evening. Texas is truck country so the new KICKER L7T under seat drew a lot of attention. Powersports in strong in the area so the KICKER PowerBar grabbed attention too.”

For Saturday night’s event the stands were nearly full with attendees very engaged with action on the track. Amateur riders took to the track during the day and pro riders took the track through the evening from 6 until well after 10PM.

DETROIT, MI (01.14.22) – New data released Wednesday by Kelley Blue Book shows that the average new-vehicle transaction price rose to $47,077 in December 2021, a new record.
That’s a 1.7% increase — $808 — from November, and a 14% increase — or $5,742 — from December 2020. The high prices stem from continued strong demand, low vehicle inventories and dealers charging at or above the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for certain vehicles.
Luxury vehicle sales driving higher prices The types of vehicles sold also played a role in raising the average price: 18.4% of last month’s sales came from luxury cars, higher than the 16.9% share they held in June, or the 15.5% share they held in December 2016.
Dealers are charging at or above sticker price for most new cars.
“December typically is the best month for luxury vehicle sales, and 2021 followed that trend in a big way,” said Kayla Reynolds, analyst for Cox Automotive. “The result was another record in overall average transaction prices, completely driven in December by the increase in luxury vehicle sales.”
Luxury car buyers paid an average of $64,864, more than $1,300 above sticker price. A year ago, these buyers were paying more than $3,000 under MSRP.
Other vehicles prices rising as well
Yet it wasn’t just luxury buyers who were paying more. Non-luxury vehicles cost an average of $43,072, down from the record high set in November 2021, but still more than $900 above sticker price, a trend that has been consistent during the past six months.

The higher cost is being driven by the shrinking number of sedan sales, which tend to be more affordable than SUVs or trucks. Whereas the average price of a sedan in December 2021 was $42,460; SUVs averaged $46,075; vans $46,908; and trucks $55,049.
Some pricing anomalies arise
The price of all vehicles rose year-over-year, but some prices fell from November to December, with entry-level luxury cars and high-performance cars seeing a 1.7% price decline, and sports car prices falling 1.9%. But electric vehicle prices rose 13.9% from November to December, luxury midsize crossover SUV prices increased 3.3% and luxury subcompact SUV prices increasing 2.5%.
Consumers paid an average of $55,049 for their new truck in December 2021.
Among brands, Mitsubishi’s prices rose the most year over year, increasing 33.1% from December 2020 to December 2021. Other brands seeing sharp increases include Cadillac at 25%, Infiniti at 20.5%, Chevrolet at 19.6%, Acura at 19.2% and Jeep at 17.9%.
Month to month, Tesla’s average transaction price rose 16.9%, more than any other brand followed by Cadillac at 11.8%. Other brands saw far smaller price increases, mostly in the low single digits. And some brands’ average transaction price decreased, such as Mazda, down 3.7%; Rivian, down 3.6%; and Jeep down 2.6%.

The Third is in the BT name, this unit has the option to connect to the customers radio the usual ways (FM and Aux), but now has Bluetooth which again makes for a much cleaner installation.”

TEMPE, AZ (01.12.22) – Mobile Solutions announced it is going beyond its planned exhibit floor space at the Mesa Convention Center to accommodate increasing interest in its first annual MasterTech Expo, scheduled March 6-9 in Mesa, Ariz. An adjacent outdoor expanse will essentially double the exhibit area, providing attendees access to more vendors and new product experiences.
The outdoor portion of the venue makes room for more than 25 additional demo vehicles as well as large-scale product showcases and demonstration areas. The space will be closed to the public and engage attendees with new hands-on, visual and audible experiences in a spacious, uncrowded environment.
The outdoor expansion adds to an overall exhibit floor with several high-value attractions. Twenty-four well-spaced vendor booths will feature special demonstrations of product applications. The Budweiser Events Center was built as a hockey arena that holds about 7000 people. For the ArenaCross event the stands were pushed back a bit to set up the fairly short, but well designed track, for riders. For Saturday night’s event the stands were nearly full. Over 300 riders were on hand both days to take practice runs plus amateur and pro riders on the track for dozens of heats through the evening from 6 until well after 10PM.

The event center was built for hockey and it was a quick trip around the track for riders.
Matt Macias, Colorado staff member of Santa Fe Distributing in the Rockies, was on hand Saturday night to work the booth along with Lorin Morrell. “Lorin does such a great job getting everything set up to showcase KICKER at the AMA ArenaCross events. So many attendees are interested in the KICKER products that will fit their rides,” he stated. Macias resides in Aurora CO about an hour from Loveland. Santa Fe Distributing in a key KICKER Distributor of longstanding based in Lenexa KS.
