“Going back to school was great! We had a fun time in class with such a wonderful group of students. The Rancho Alamitos High School Auto Shop is a hands-on program that teaches students the fundamentals of automotive technology, from maintenance and diagnostics to tool use and safe workshop practices. Students learn by doing, working directly on vehicles and real shop projects.

A major strength of the program is its connection to the automotive community. Rancho Alamitos High School regularly welcomes guest speakers from local shops, industry professionals, modification brands, and automotive artists, giving students insight into real careers, custom-car culture, and the creative side of the auto world. These visits inspire students, expose them to current trends, and help them understand how professionals built their paths in the industry.

Students also participate in regional auto-skills competitions and career events, building confidence and experiencing the industry firsthand. Together, these experiences help students gain valuable skills, discover career possibilities, and prepare for college, apprenticeships, or entry-level automotive work. The auto shop continues to grow as a place where students learn, connect, create, and build their future.

A big Thank you for your support, Mr. Garling “Mr. G” …Christan Garling” Harbour concluded.
